Thomas Bartlett (theologian)
Thomas Bartlett (1789–1864) was an English clergyman and theological writer. Life Bartlett was educated at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and graduated B.A. 1813, and M.A. 1816 oseph Foster, 'Alumni Oxonienses' He held the living of Kingstone, near Canterbury, from 1816 to 1852; he was then preferred to Chevening, near Sevenoaks. In 1854 he moved on to Luton, Bedfordshire, and in 1857 to Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire. In 1832 he became one of the Six preachers of Canterbury Cathedral. Works While at Kingstone he produced a succession of pamphlets, letters, and sermons, maintaining evangelical tenets. He married a great-great-niece of Bishop Joseph Butler Joseph Butler (18 May O.S. 1692 – 16 June O.S. 1752) was an English Anglican bishop, theologian, apologist, and philosopher, born in Wantage in the English county of Berkshire (now in Oxfordshire). Thomas Bartlett (historian)
Thomas Bartlett MRIA is an Irish historian and author. Biography Bartlett was born in Belfast and attended St. Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School. He read history at Queen's University Belfast, taking a BA in 1970 and his doctorate in 1976 on Townshend's viceroyalty in 1767-72. He was appointed Lecturer in Irish History at National University of Ireland, Galway. In 1995 he was appointed Professor of History at University College Dublin and subsequently moved to the Chair in Irish History at the University of Aberdeen. He was elected a member of the Royal Irish Academy in 1995 and has held several visiting professorships in the US and Britain. In 1999 he was appointed the first ''Naughton Fellow in Irish Studies'' at the University of Notre Dame. He is currently Emeritus Professor at the University of Aberdeen. Thomas Bartlett (born October 13, 1981), also known as Doveman, is an American pianist, producer, and singer. He has released four solo albums as Doveman, four albums as a member of The Gloaming, duo albums with the composer Nico Muhly and the hardanger d’amore player Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, and "Shelter," an album of solo piano compositions. As a producer, Bartlett has worked with a range of notable artists, including Yoko Ono, St. Vincent, Norah Jones, and many others. "Mystery of Love", a collaboration with Sufjan Stevens for the soundtrack to ''Call Me by Your Name'', was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 61st ceremony. Thomas George Bartlett (June 6, 1928 – October 19, 2016) was an American college basketball and tennis player, as well as a college basketball and tennis head coach. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Bartlett served as the men's basketball head coach for Carson-Newman College, the University of Chattanooga (now the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga), and the University of Florida, and also as the men's tennis head coach at the University of Tennessee and UT-Chattanooga. Early life and playing career Bartlett was born in Homerville, Georgia and graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he played for the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team from 1949 to 1952 and the Volunteers men's tennis team from 1950 to 1952. Tommy Bartlett
Thomson "Tommy" Bartlett (July 11, 1914 – September 6, 1998) was an American showman and entertainment mogul from Wisconsin. He is most often associated with the water skiing thrill show based in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, known as Tommy Bartlett's Thrill Show. The success of this and other traveling water ski shows led to Bartlett's induction into the Water Ski Hall of Fame in 1993. His shows have toured the United States, the Far East, and four World Fairs, and have been seen by 50 million spectators. Early career Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bartlett began his career in entertainment by becoming a broadcaster at radio station WISN at the young age of 13. After moving to Chicago, Illinois, he became a staff announcer at the CBS-owned WBBM radio station. He continued here until the outbreak of World War II, when he learned to fly and subsequently became a flight instructor for the United States Army Air Corps.
