This Merry Planet
''This Merry Planet'' (russian: Эта весёлая планета, Eta vesyolaya planeta) is a 1973 Soviet science fiction-musical television film directed by Yuri Saakov and Yuri Tsvetkov. Plot On the eve of the New Year a delegation from space arrives on Earth. The aliens find it difficult to understand what is happening on the planet. By chance they end up at a party of a Soviet scientific research organization. The aliens are convinced that they will immediately become the center of attention, but, as everyone is dressed up in costumes, their appearance at the evening in the House of Culture does not cause any excitement. They try to prove their extraterrestrial origin, but no one believes them. One young astronomer is trying to bring this extraordinary event to the audience, but also to no avail, and additionally he is deeply mistaken — he mistook earthling (Saveliy Kramarov) for an alien as he was dressed as a "perpetuum mobile". Vladimir Georgievich Mulyavin (russian: Влади́мир Гео́ргиевич Муля́вин; be, Уладзімер Георгіевіч Мулявін (Uladzimer Heorhijevič Muliavin); 12 January 1941 – 26 January 2003) was a Belarusian and Russian rock musician and the founder of the folk-rock band Pesniary. Gennadi (birth name Geniy) Gavrilovich Yukhtin (russian: Геннадий (Гений) Гаврилович Юхтин; 30 March 1932 – 18 February 2022) was a Russian film and stage actor. Life and career At the age of fourteen, Yukhtin was orphaned: his mother died at the front during the Second World War in 1942, and his father died of wounds in 1946. He ended up in a special orphanage for the children of dead army and navy officers. Later he ended up in the Volga region, where the teacher, a former actress, introduced her pupils to amateur art. Then Yukhtin became seriously interested in theatrical art. Yukhtin graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography. Since 1955, he has been an actor at the National Film Actors' Theatre. He appeared in more than 100 films between 1955 and 1991. Death Yukhtin tested positive for COVID-19 on 27 January 2022.
