''This Light I Hold'' is the fifth studio album by American metalcore band Memphis May Fire. It was released on the October 28, 2016 by Rise Records. The album debuted at number 42 on the Billboard 200 chart. It is the last album to have rhythm guitarist Anthony Sepe before his departure in January 2017. Release and promotion The band premiered the first single "Carry On" on BBC Radio 1 on August 28, 2016. On September 23, 2016, Memphis May Fire released the title track and second single to their new album, "This Light I Hold," which features Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), accompanied with a music video. Memphis May Fire is an American metalcore band formed in Denton, Texas and currently signed to Rise Records. The band currently consists of lead guitarist Kellen McGregor, lead vocalist Matty Mullins, bassist Cory Elder, and drummer Jake Garland. Formed in 2006, they have released six studio albums and two EPs to date. Their fourth album, '' Unconditional'', debuted at No. 4 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and atop the Alternative Albums chart. My American Heart
My American Heart is an American rock band from San Diego, California, formed in 2001. Originally named No Way Out, the band released two studio albums through Warcon Enterprises and toured the world before disbanding in late 2009. They reunited in 2017. History My American Heart gained local fame from many local SoCal venues from which they played. Due to legal troubles concerning their name, the band changed their name from No Way Out to My American Heart to reflect the ethnic and national duality the original members identified with.
