TVB Jade (), or simply Jade, is a Hong Kong Cantonese-language free-to-air television channel owned and operated by Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) as its flagship service, alongside its sister network, the English-language TVB Pearl. Broadcasting started on 19 November 1967. It is headquartered at TVB City at the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate in Tseung Kwan O, in the Sai Kung District. Primarily broadcasting entertainment programming, TVB Jade has historically been the most dominant television channel in the region in terms of viewership, with its closest competitor having been the now-defunct ATV Home. Chow Yun-fat (born 18 May 1955), previously known as Donald Chow, is a Hong Kong actor. Ha Yu (actor)
Wong Sing (born 14 June 1943), better known by his stage name Ha Yu, is a Hong Kong actor who has been working on the television network TVB since the 1970s. Biography Wong was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, in 1946. He went to Hong Kong in 1962 and worked as a part-time actor during his studies there. Later, he joined the television station Rediffusion (now ATV) as an actor and adopted the stage name "Ha Yu". He switched to another station, TVB, in 1974 and acted in a number of television series produced by TVB, especially in adaptations of wuxia novels by Gu Long. In early 1987, Wong co-hosted the variety show ''An Evening With the Stars'' (群斗星會) aired on the Taiwanese television network TTV. He immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1994. The Sword (TVB)
The Sword was an American heavy metal band from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2003, the band was composed of vocalist and guitarist John D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie and drummer Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III for most of its tenure. Originally signed to Kemado Records, the group released its debut album ''Age of Winters'' in 2006, the material for which had been largely written by Cronise (who also produced the album) prior to the band's formation. '' Gods of the Earth'' (which was also produced by the band's frontman) was released two years later, giving the group its first entry on the US ''Billboard'' 200 chart when it reached number 102. Liu Wai Hung (; born 9 December 1957) is a former actor in TVB with his famous nickname "Ar Chan" (阿燦). Liu was born in Hong Kong with family roots in Shunde, Guangdong, China. He joined TVB in 1977. In the firm '' The Good, The Bad And The Ugly'' (網中人), he acted as a new immigrant from Mainland China called "Ar Chan", so he got the nickname of "Ar Chan" from that moment. The Bund II
''The Bund II'' is a Hong Kong period drama television series broadcast on TVB in 1980. It is a direct sequel to ''The Bund'', also produced and released by TVB earlier in the same year. A sequel, ''The Bund III'', was released by TVB later that year. Plot The story continues from after Hui Man-keung's death in ''The Bund''. Frances Yip Lai-yee (born 1947) is a Hong Kong English pop and Cantopop singer. She is best known for performing many of the theme songs for television series produced by TVB in the 1980s and early 1990s. Biography Born in 1947, Yip is of Hakka ancestry, and is the youngest of 5 siblings. She grew up in a rural area in Hong Kong, and studied in St. Clare's Girls' School, an English Catholic school. Her first singing job was in 1969 when she won a talent contest called Sharp's Night Four Lights Competition on Hong Kong television where she met the composer, Joseph Koo. Koo used Yip to sing commercial Jingles while she was working as a secretary in HSBC, one was the jingles was a song about savings account for HSBC. Kent Tong
Kent Tong (; born 29 September 1958) is a Hong Kong actor. He was a popular TVB actor during the 1980s, nicknamed "Prince" and one of the "Five Tiger Generals" of TVB. Early life Kent Tong was born to and grew up in a poor family in Hong Kong. His father was a fisherman who always caught seafood to feed his family. All 12 members of his family lived in a small-sized living room that was only 30 square meters. After graduating from high school, he worked on a salary of around 500 Hong Kong dollars per month. Career In 1979, Kent Tong received actor training from the TVB Artist Training Class, and proceeded to act for TVB.
