This Is Love (George Harrison Song)
"This Is Love" is a song by English rock musician George Harrison that was released on his 1987 album '' Cloud Nine''. Harrison co-wrote the song with Jeff Lynne, who also co-produced the track. In June 1988, it was issued as the third single from ''Cloud Nine'', peaking at number 55 on the UK Singles Chart. The original B-side for the single was going to be " Handle with Care", a collaboration between Harrison, Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty recorded at Bob Dylan's studio in Santa Monica, California. When executives at Harrison's distributor Warner Bros. Records heard the track, they decided it was too good to be released as single "filler", a decision that resulted in the formation of the Traveling Wilburys, and the album '' Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1'', with "Handle with Care" as the lead track and single. Steve Wood and Daniel May composed music to the 1998 IMAX documentary film ''Everest'' incorporating melodies from some of Harrison's songs, one of which was "This Is Love". ... George Harrison
George Harrison (25 February 1943 – 29 November 2001) was an English musician and singer-songwriter who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. "Hong Kong Blues" is a popular song composed by American songwriter Hoagy Carmichael in 1939. It was featured in the 1944 film ''To Have and Have Not'', an adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's novel by the same name. Former Beatle George Harrison covered the tune on his 1981 album ''Somewhere in England''. Raymond Cooper (born 19 September 1947) is an English musician who has worked as a session and road-tour percussionist. During his career, Cooper has worked and toured with numerous musically diverse bands and artists including Elton John (as a duo and as a member of his band), Billy Joel, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Art Garfunkel. James Lee Keltner (born April 27, 1942) is an American drummer and percussionist known primarily for his session work. ''The Dark Horse Years 1976–1992'' is a box set of albums by English rock musician George Harrison. It was released in 2004 and comprises most of the singer's output on his Dark Horse record label. The set contains Harrison's five studio albums from ''Thirty Three & 1/3'' (1976) to '' Cloud Nine'' (1987), with bonus tracks, and his 1992 live album (spread over two discs) ''Live in Japan'', which features a special SACD remix in addition to its original mix. The six albums were also made available as separate releases. The set's eighth disc, a DVD titled ''The Dark Horse Years'', includes promotional videos of Harrison's singles from the 1976–88 era and footage from his 1991 Japanese tour. Olivia Trinidad Harrison (née Arias; born May 18, 1948) is an American author and film producer, and the widow of English musician George Harrison of the Beatles. She first worked in the music industry in Los Angeles, for A&M Records, where she met George and then helped run his Dark Horse record label. In 1990, she launched the Romanian Angel Appeal to raise funds for the thousands of orphans left abandoned in Romania after the fall of Communism there. Hana, Hawaii
Hāna is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 1,526 at the 2020 census. Hana is located at the eastern end of the island of Maui and is one of the most isolated communities in the state. It is reached mainly via the Hāna Highway, a long, winding, highway along Maui's northern shore, via boat, and with commercial air service to Hāna airport. History Like most of Hawaii, Hāna was probably first settled between 500 and 800 AD by Polynesian peoples.
