Tomotaka Tasaka
was a Japanese film director. Career Born in Hiroshima Prefecture, he began working at Nikkatsu's Kyoto studio in 1924 and eventually came to prominence for a series of realist, humanist films made at Nikkatsu's Tamagawa studio in the late 1930s such as '' Robō no ishi'' and ''Mud and Soldiers'', both of which starred Isamu Kosugi. His war film, ''Five Scouts'', was screened in the competition at the 6th Venice International Film Festival. Tasaka was a victim of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and spent many years recovering. He eventually resumed directing and won the best director prize at the 1958 Blue Ribbon Awards for ''A Slope in the Sun'', which starred Yūjirō Ishihara. His brother, Katsuhiko Tasaka, was also a film director, and his wife, Hisako Takihana, was an actress. is a Japanese entertainment company known for its film and television productions. It is Japan's oldest major movie studio, founded in 1912 during the silent film era. , commonly called , is Japan's oldest film magazine and began publication in July 1919. It was first published three times a month, using the Japanese ''Jun'' (旬) system of dividing months into three parts, but the postwar ''Kinema Junpō'' has been published twice a month. The magazine was founded by a group of four students, including Saburō Tanaka, at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Technical High School at the time). In that first month, it was published three times on days with a "1" in them. These first three issues were printed on art paper and had four pages each. Masahiko Tsugawa
, born Masahiko Katō (加藤 雅彦 ''Katō Masahiko''; January 2, 1940 – August 4, 2018) was a Japanese actor and director. Career Tsugawa was born January 2, 1940, in Kyoto, Japan. After acting as a child, he made his major debut at the age of 16 in the Kō Nakahira film ''Crazed Fruit'' in 1956. Tsugawa's family was heavily involved in the film industry since before his birth. Tsugawa attended school until dropping out of Waseda University Graduate School to pursue acting alone. was a Japanese actor. His wife was actress Yatsuko Tanami. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1950 and 1993. Career Kaneko was a versatile character actor, playing roles ranging from comedic buffoons to hardened yakuza bosses. He is especially known for his role as Yoshio Yamamori in the ''Battles Without Honor and Humanity'' series. Kaneko started his acting career at the Bungakuza theater troupe in 1946.
