This Corrosion
"This Corrosion" is a song by English rock band The Sisters of Mercy, released as the lead single from their second studio album, '' Floodland'' (1987), in September 1987. The song peaked at number 6 in Ireland, number 7 in the UK, and number 17 in Germany. Composition "This Corrosion" was written by Andrew Eldritch and produced by Jim Steinman, and is one of the band's most well-known songs. It uses a 40-piece choir, and the LP version of the song lasts for nearly 11 minutes (the single versions are substantially shorter). Eldritch's lyrics concern his previous band members leaving the Sisters of Mercy to form the Mission. The latter's lead singer, Wayne Hussey, was once a guitarist for the Sisters of Mercy. The Sisters Of Mercy
The Sisters of Mercy is an English rock band, formed in 1980 in Leeds. After achieving early underground fame there, the band had their commercial breakthrough in the mid-1980s and sustained it until the early 1990s, when they stopped releasing new recorded output in protest against their record company WEA. Currently, the band are a touring outfit only. The group has released three original studio albums: '' First and Last and Always'' (1985), '' Floodland'' (1987), and '' Vision Thing'' (1990). Each album was recorded by a different line-up; singer-songwriter Andrew Eldritch and the drum machine called Doktor Avalanche are the only points of continuity throughout. Eldritch and Avalanche were also involved in The Sisterhood, a side-project connected with Eldritch's dispute with former members. Most Precious Blood (band)
Most Precious Blood is an American hardcore punk band from New York City formed from the remnants of the band Indecision. They blend the song structures of hardcore with heavy metal, and the band cites Sick of It All, Aphex Twin, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Obsessed as influences, among others. They were signed to Trustkill Records until it dissolved in 2010. They are now with Trustkill president Josh Grabelle's new label Bullet Tooth. The band and its members advocated the straight edge movement, animal rights, vegetarianism and veganism. As of 2015, vocalist Rob Fusco is no longer. Luna (1990s Serbian Band)
Luna ( sr, Луна) is a popular pop group from Serbia with considerable popularity throughout the former Yugoslavia. The key group member is multi-instrumentalist and composer Čeda Čvorak (born Čedomir Rajičić). They released ten studio albums. Luna have been recording albums since the late 1990s, and popular songs have included ''Drugarice'' (''Girlfriend'') with Svetlana Ražnatović (Ceca), and more recently ''Ne ostavljaj me'' (''Don't leave me''), featuring Gloria from Bulgaria (one of a number of songs sung in Bulgarian and Serbian). The song was originally released by Luna in 1999 and sounds like the Sisters Of Mercy's song " This Corrosion". The first and best known lead singer was Serbian female singer Maja Marković, who stayed in the group from 1997. Jyrki Pekka Emil Linnankivi (born 15 October 1968), known professionally as Jyrki 69, is a Finnish singer who is the lead vocalist of the rock band The 69 Eyes. In their early years, the band's sound was closer to glam metal, but since the album ''Blessed Be'' they have shifted into gothic rock. The 69 Eyes prefer to label their sound as "goth'n'roll". Diane Birch (born January 24, 1983) is an American singer-songwriter. Early life Birch was born in Michigan. At the age of seven she began studying piano using the Suzuki method. While growing up she listened to opera, classical and church music. Birch's father was a Seventh-day Adventist missionary in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Sydney, Australia, and as a result Birch spent her early years abroad. When she was ten, her family returned to the United States, and settled in Portland, Oregon. Birch attended Portland Adventist Elementary School and later, Portland Adventist Academy.
