Thiru Krishnamoorthy (born 6 July 1979) is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Tamil cinema. He has directed films such as ''Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai'' (2010), ''Samar (2013 film), Samar'' (2013) and ''Naan Sigappu Manithan (2014 film), Naan Sigappu Manithan'' (2014). Early life Career After assisting A. Rajasekhar in ''Satyam (2008 film), Sathyam'' (2008), Thiru made his directorial debut with ''Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai'' (2010) starring Vishal (actor), Vishal alongside three lead actresses. The film received mixed reviews and became hit in the box office. After that Thiru again collaborated with Vishal in two films ''Samar'' (2013) and ''Naan Sigappu Manithan (2014 film), Naan Sigappu Manithan'' (2014). The former dealt with protagonist who unknowingly involved in a dangerous game and the latter dealt with hero suffering from narcolepsy. Gudiyatham
Gudiyetram, colloquially Gudiyattam (; also called as Gudiyatham) is a municipality in Vellore district in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It lies between Bangalore and Chennai and the district of Vellore is 33 km away from the town. In 2011, the town had a population of 235,672. The municipality derives its name from 'Gudiye-tram' in Tamil which means habituation of people. The ancient occupation of the people of Guidyatham was handloom weaving. Etymology Kulothunga Chola named the town "Jayamkonda Sathurvethi Mangalam". This was followed by rapid settlement of the town, so the town was renamed "Kudiyattrem", which metamorphosed into "Gudiyattam", to commemorate the influx. According to a myth, Karikala Cholan first cleared forest and then had people settle here, so it was named "Kudiyetram", which evolved into "Gudi-yetram". ''Chanakya'' is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language spy action thriller film directed by Thiru and produced by Rama Brahmam Sunkara under AK Entertainments banner.
