Thillu Mullu
''Thillu Mullu'' () is a 1981 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language comedy film directed by K. Balachander and written by Visu. A remake of the 1979 Hindi film ''Gol Maal'', it stars Rajinikanth, with Thengai Srinivasan, Nagesh, Poornam Viswanathan, Sowcar Janaki, Madhavi (actress), Madhavi and Viji Chandrasekhar in supporting roles. The film is about Chandran, who lies to his boss to get a leave but gets caught. To save his job, he is forced to pretend to his boss that he has a twin brother. ''Thillu Mullu'' was released on 1 May 1981. Critics particularly praised Rajinikanth's performance, as he was known for doing mainly action films up until that point in his career. Meenakshisundaram Ramasamy Viswanathan (1 July 1945 ā€“ 22 March 2020), best known by his stage name Visu, was an Indian writer, director, stage, film and television actor and talk-show host. Visu initially worked as an assistant to director K. Balachander until becoming a director himself. He later began acting, with his first film being ''Kudumbam Oru Kadambam'' (1981), directed by S. P. Muthuraman. Career He started his career as a theatre artist, working with Y. G. Parthasarathy's drama troupe. He was writing scripts for stage dramas before getting into the film industry as an assistant to legendary director K. Balachander. During his time with Balachander, he wrote screenplays for numerous films including ''Pattina Pravesam'' (1977), ''Avan Aval Adhu'' (1980), ''Thillu Mullu'' (1981) and ''Netrikkan'' (1981). Latha Rajinikanth
Latha Rajinikanth (born Latha Rangachari; 2 March 1958) is an Indian film producer and playback singer. She is the wife of actor Rajinikanth. Early life Latha was born in Chennai, India in a Tamil Brahmin Iyengar family. She graduated with degree in English literature from Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai.
