Thil Island is a small rocky island lying 1 nautical mile (1.9 km) northeast of Jennings Promontory in the eastern part of the Amery Ice Shelf. Delineated in 1952 by John H. Château De Thil
The Château de Thil is a ruined mediaeval castle located to the west of Dijon in Burgundy, in the ''commune'' of Vic-sous-Thil in the Côte-d'Or ''département'' of France. The presence of a fortress is known since 1016 from a map of Flavigny and the occupation of the site continued until the 17th century. Despite being heavily restored during the 20th century, the remains still permit architectural study. Architecture Today, the castle appears as an ovoid ''enceinte'', comprising a ''reduit'' and a lower courtyard. Building studies have identified different phases of construction from the 13th to the 16th century. From the 13th century, ruins include the remains of a residence with a storeroom and, probably, a watch tower. A chapel dates from 1085. At the end of the 14th century, the construction of a residence tower and a habitable building redefined the space creating what is now referred to as the ''reduit''. Grégory Thil (born 15 March 1980) is a French former professional footballer who played as a forward. He played at a professional level for Beauvais, Boulogne, Dijon, and Châteauroux, and is the all-time leading scorer for Boulogne. Career Born in Creil, Thil began his career at Beauvais. In 2005, he moved to the French side Boulogne, then playing in Ligue 2, and was handed the number 10 shirt. He spent his career playing for Boulogne over the six years, making 165 appearances with 79 goals. On 1 June 2011, Thil moved to the newly promoted Ligue 1 side Dijon. In July 2014, he was loaned to Châteauroux. In 2015, Thil returned to Boulogne. He scored well over 100 goals in his career with Boulogne, making him the club's all time leading goal scorer.
