Thierry Mekwattana
Suthiyong Mekwattana or commonly known as Thierry Mekwattana ( th, สุทธิยงค์ เมฆวัฒนา, เทียรี่ เมฆวัฒนา; born: April 23, 1958) is a Thai singer and musician of Swiss and Chinese descent, he is best known as a member of Carabao (band), Carabao, a famous and popular Thai rock and ''Phleng phuea chiwit'' (Thai protest song) band. Biography and career Thierry was born in Laos on April 23, 1958, to a Thai Chinese, Thai-Chinese father, Anek Mekwattana (เอนก เมฆวัฒนา), who worked for the United States's Central Intelligence Agency, CIA (with the delivery of military equipment to the US Army), and a Swiss people, Swiss mother. Later, when 1960 Laotian coups, a coup in Laos in 1960 occurred, Anek led his family to settle in Thailand permanently. Preecha Chanapai also known as Lek Carabao ( th, ปรีชา ชนะภัย, เล็ก คาราบาว) is a Thai musician and singer, who is the member of Carabao, a famous and popular Thai rock and ''Phleng phuea chiwit'' (Thai protest song) band. Biography and career Preecha (nicknamed: Lek; เล็ก) was born in Bangkok on April 18, 1955. He practiced playing guitar at the age of 13 with his brother teaching. He studied at the Uthenthawai School of Mechanics (currently Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok: Uthenthawai Campus), which the same institution as Yuenyong Opakul (Aed Carabao), but they are not known while studying. When he graduated, he joined a guitarist with The President, a disco band play regularly at pubs or restaurants in hotels around Bangkok, so it is famous among musicians.
