''They Don't Clap Losers'' is a 1975 Australian television documentary-drama film directed by John Power. It aired the first night Australian television turned to colour. Power had made a number of drama documentaries for the ABC, including ''Billy and Percy'', '' Like a Summer Storm'' and ''Escape from Singapore''. It later aired in 1977 as an episode of ''Stuart Wagstaff's World Playhouse''. John Power (director)
John Beresford Power (20 November 1930 – February 2016) was an Australian film and television director, who began his career as a journalist. Early life and journalism career Power was born in Maitland, New South Wales. His older brother was Dave Power, a long-distance runner who won medals at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. After leaving school, he joined the ''Maitland Mercury'' as a cadet journalist, later moving to Sydney to work for ''The Daily Telegraph'' and ''The Daily Mirror''. He was a political journalist in Canberra at the time of the Australian Labor Party split of 1955, events which he would later cover in the documentary film ''Like a Summer Storm''. Jude Kuring
Judith Kuring (born 23 November 1948) known Jude Kuring is an Australian actress who appeared in theatre, film and television during the late 1970s and early 80s. She remains best known for her stint as the recurring character of petty criminal Noeline Bourke in the soap opera ''Prisoner'' in 1979 until 1980. Sean Scully (born 28 September 1947) is an Australian actor, active in film and television, most especially serials. Early life The son of actress and radio host Margaret Christensen, Scully was born in Sydney, New South Wales. Career Scully began his acting career at the age of 12 in the 1960 Children's Film Foundation film ''Hunted in Holland'', which won the Diploma of Honour at the Cannes Film Festival. Jack Charles
Jack Charles (5 September 1943 – 13 September 2022), also known as Uncle Jack Charles, was an Australian stage and screen actor and activist, known for his advocacy for Aboriginal people. He was involved in establishing the first Indigenous theatre in Australia, co-founding Nindethana Theatre with Bob Maza in Melbourne in 1971. His film credits include the Australian film ''The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith'' (1978), among others, and more recently appeared in TV series ''Cleverman'' (2016) and ''Preppers'' (2021). Michele Fawdon (1947–2011) was an English-born Australian actress and singer.
