Theudebald
Theudebald or Theodebald (in modern English, ''Theobald''; in French language, French, ''Thibaut'' or ''Théodebald''; in German language, German, ''Theudowald'') (c. 535–555), son of Theudebert I and Deuteria, was the king of Metz, Rheims, or Austrasia—as it is variously called—from 547 or 548 to 555. He was only thirteen years of age when he succeeded and of ill health. However, the loyalty of the nobility to his father's memory preserved the peace during his minority. He married Waldrada, daughter of the Lombards, Lombard king Wacho and his step-aunt (a sister of his father's second wife). This marriage fortified the alliance between Austrasia and Lombardy. Nevertheless, Theudebald could not hold on to the conquests of his father in the north of Italia (Roman province), Italia. Theudebald, Duke Of Alamannia
Theudebald or Theutbald was the Duke of Alamannia from 730 until his deposition. He was a son of Gotfrid and brother and co-ruler with Lantfrid from 709. In 727, Theudebald expelled Pirmin, the founder of Reichenau Abbey, out of a hatred for Charles Martel (''ob odium Karoli''), whose influence in Alamannia he detested. During a military campaign in 730, Lantfrid was killed and Theudebald became sole duke. In 732, Theudebald was chased out of Alemannia by Charles Martel, but upon Charles' death in 741 he returned to claim his dukedom. In 742, Theudebald rebelled against the nominal authority of the Merovingian monarchy which was then being exercised by the two mayors of the palace Pepin the Short and Carloman; the Basques, Bavarii, and Saxons all revolted simultaneously. Theutbald I (bishop Of Langres)
Theutbald I (or Theobald, french: Thibaut, , la, Theutbaldus; died 16 August 856) was the bishop of Langres from when he was elected to succeed Alberic (died 838) until his death. He is first securely attested as bishop in 842. He may have belonged to the same Bavarian family that had dominated the episcopate of Langres since 769. In 841, at the start of open war between the three sons of Emperor Louis the Pious, Thibaut and Count Warin of Langres joined the side of the youngest brother, Charles the Bald. On 13 April, Thibaut was with Charles and his army at Sens, and celebrated Easter with him at Troyes on 17 April. Theutbald II (or Theobald or Theobold, french: Thibaut, , la, T(h)eutbaldus; died 894/5) was one of the rival bishops of Langres following the disputed election of 888. According to Flodoard of Reims, he was a relative of Charles the Simple, king of West Francia. Biography The death of bishop Geilo of Langres on 28 June 888 came shortly after the death of the Emperor Charles III. The resulting election of the bishop's successor thus took place while the thrones of the various kingdoms of the empire were themselves in dispute. Following his canonical and popular election, Argrim was consecrated bishop by archbishop Aurelian of Lyon, but archbishop Fulk of Reims, who supported the claim of Charles the Simple to the throne, tried to force Theutbald on the church of Langres instead. He convinced Pope Stephen V to back him, and the pope wrote two letters to Aurelian to pressure him to consecrate Theutbald and withdraw his support from Argrim.
