These Girls
''These Girls'' is a 2005 film directed by John Hazlett and starring David Boreanaz, Caroline Dhavernas, Holly Lewis, Amanda Walsh, Colin C. Berry and Donnell Makenzie. Based upon the play of the same name by Vivienne Laxdal, its plot concerns three girls (Dhavernas, Lewis, and Walsh) who attempt to seduce an older man (Boreanaz) in their town. After Glory (Walsh) is found sleeping with Keith, the other two girls attempt to do the same, ultimately looking to share him amongst the three. The film was released on March 2, 2006, in Quebec, March 24, 2006, in English Canada, and released on DVD in North America May 16, 2006. It was featured in the Toronto International Film Festival. The film was produced in association with CHUM Television, and Canadian premium television movie channels The Movie Network, Movie Central & Super Écran. CHUM Limited was a Canadian media company based in Toronto, Ontario in operation from 1945 to 2007. The company was founded in 1945 as York Broadcasters Limited when it launched CHUM-AM 1050 but was acquired by salesman Allan Waters in 1954. Cap-Pelé, New Brunswick
Cap-Pelé ( ap pəle is an unincorporated community in Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada. It held village status prior to 2023. The community centres on the intersection of Route 945 and Route 133 but extends to Route 950. Its sister city is Broussard, Louisiana, United States. Geography It is located on the Northumberland Strait approximately 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Moncton. Approximately 88% of its residents are Francophone. History The village was founded by Acadians in 1780 and incorporated as a municipality in 1969. Fishing is the dominant industry, and the town is home to several smoked herring processing plants known locally as ''boucannières''. As many as 30 smokehouses are found in Cap-Pelé and its surrounding areas. Work in the smokehouses tends to be seasonal, and during the summertime certain smokehouses offer guided tours. Shediac
Shediac (official in both languages; ''Shédiac'' is colloquial French) is a heavily Acadian town in Westmorland County, New Brunswick. The town is home to the famous Parlee Beach and is known as the "Lobster Capital of the World". It hosts an annual festival every July which promotes its ties to lobster fishing. At the western entrance to the town is a 90-ton sculpture called ''The World's Largest Lobster''. It is believed that chiac, a well-known French accent, was named after Shediac. Etymology Shediac was originally called La Batture. Its name was later changed to Shediac in reference to its position at the basin of the Shediac River. The name "Shediac" itself is derived from the Micmac word ''Esedeiik'', which means "which comes from far away", possibly in reference to the Shediac Bay or the current of the Petitcodiac river. ''FUBAR'' is a 2002 Canadian film directed by Michael Dowse and written by Dave Lawrence, Michael Dowse and Paul Spence, following the lives of two lifelong friends and head-bangers, Terry Cahill and Dean Murdoch. ''FUBAR'' debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. Since its release, it has gained a cult status in North America, particularly in Western Canada. ''FUBAR'' was filmed and set in and around Calgary, Alberta, and was filmed entirely with digital cinematography on a Canon XL1 and a shoestring budget that required Dave Lawrence to max out his credit card and caused his dad to refinance their family home in order to complete the movie. ''FUBAR'' features characters created by Dave Lawrence and Paul Spence that they developed based on the head-banger subculture.
