Theri (film)
''Theri'' ( ''Spark'') is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the banner V Creations. The film stars Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson. The film's music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography handled by George C. Williams and editing done by Ruben. In the film, a former police officer is on a mission to protect his daughter from his past enemies. The film marked Kumar's second directorial after '' Raja Rani'' (2013), whose success impressed Vijay to work with the director. Atlee came up with the script, which was an "emotional action thriller film" and a formal announcement was made during September 2014. After post-production works and a formal launch ceremony in June 2015, the film began production in Chennai during early July. Arun Kumar (born 21 September 1986), known Mononymous person, mononymously as Atlee, is a film director, screenwriter and producer best known for his work in Indian films. He initially worked as an assistant director under S. Shankar in the films ''Enthiran'' (2010) and ''Nanban (2012 film), Nanban'' (2012). Filmfare Awards South is the South Indian segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by the Filmfare magazine of The Times Group to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Indian film industry encompassing four languages, namely, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The annual IIFA Utsavam rewards the artistic and technical achievements of the South Indian film industry. 2015 South Indian Floods
The 2015 South India floods resulted from heavy rainfall generated by the annual northeast monsoon in November–December 2015. They affected the Coromandel Coast region of the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. More than 500 people were killed and over 1.8 million (18 lakh) people were displaced.
