''There'' ( tr, Orada) is a 2009 Turkish drama film written, produced and directed by Hakkı Kurtuluş and Melik Saraçoğlu, which follows 24 hours in the life of a troubled family. The film, which went on nationwide general release across Turkey on , has been screened at numerous international film festivals. Plot When the matriarch of an Istanbul family dies in a home for the elderly, the son and the daughter bury their mother and set off to find their father, a recluse in the family house on one of the Princes' Islands. As the three members of the family come together, it turns into a day of painful confrontations. Release Premiere The film had its world premiere on in competition at the 36th Film Fest Ghent. Hakkı Kurtuluş
Hakkı is a Turkish name, originating from the days of the Ottoman Empire. Its direct translation is 'truth'. As a result of it being frequently used in the Ottoman Empire as a birth name, it has led to the name being given to children in Turkey and Cyprus. The name itself was more common during the 17th century when the Turkish Empire was at its peak, but its frequency of use declined gradually in the following years. Osian's-Cinefan is one of Asia's leading film-festival devoted to Asian and Arab cinema, and is part of ''Osian's Film House Division''. The festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in July 2008. After a two-year break, the 12th staging of the festival took place in July 2012. History Cinefan began in 1999 as an outgrowth of ''Cinemaya'', a quarterly Asian cinema magazine published in New Delhi since 1988. The festival was launched with 27 films presented by the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) and supported by the government of Delhi. The focus that first year was on cinema of Japan as well as the 30th anniversary of the Indian New Wave with a selection of films by New Wave directors. Kosmorama
Kosmorama is the annual international film festival in the city of Trondheim, Norway first held in 2005. Festival name The word “kosmorama” (in English: cosmorama) means an exhibition of perspective pictures of (usually) landmarks of the world. In other words: a display of different perspectives and vistas from around the World. The film festival has been named Kosmorama after one of Trondheim's first big cinemas. Kosmorama Theater was founded in 1910 by Paul Kraüsslich. In addition to running the cinema, Kraüsslich travelled all around the country, filming everything from the fisheries in Lofoten to the World Speed Skating Championship. In 1906, he filmed the coronation of King Haakon VII of Norway in the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, and was able to show his film of that event just three hours later to the public. The 21st Ankara International Film Festival is a film festival held in Ankara, Turkey that ran from March 11 to 21, 2010.
