Theodoros Chatzitheodorou
Theodoros "Thodoris" Chatzitheodorou ( el, Θεόδωρος Χατζηθεοδώρου , born 1 October 1976) is a retired Greek water polo player and current coach. Chatzitheodorou started his career at Ilisiakos and then moved to Olympiacos where he played for fifteen consecutive seasons (1995–2010), winning 27 major titles (1 LEN Euroleague, 1 LEN Supercup, 12 Greek Championships, 11 Greek Cups and 2 Greek Supercups) and being voted ''Best European Player of the Year'' in 2001. He captained Olympiacos for several years and was a key player in Olympiacos' 2002 Quardruple (LEN Champions League, LEN Super Cup, Greek Championship, Greek Cup all in 2002). In 2010–2011 season he played for VK Partizan, where he won the LEN Euroleague, the Serbian Championship, the Serbian Cup and the Eurointer Cup. The LEN Champions League is the top-tier European professional water polo club competition with teams from up to 18 countries. It is organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation. The competition started in 1963 as European Cup. A change of name and format occurred in 1996, with the competition being renamed Champions League and the final four system being established as the format of choice, for the first time during the 1996–97 LEN Champions League. From 2003 to 2011 the competition was named LEN Euroleague (with the change of name being simply a re-branding) and from 2011 and on LEN Champions League, its current name. Ilisiakos
Ilisiakos Football Club ( el, Ηλυσιακός A.O.) is an Athens-based Association football, football club that was founded in 1927 by Michalis Xydis, Lambropoulos, Evgenopoulos, Nikolaos Plessas, ''et al.''. They played in Delta Ethiniki until 2003. Ilisiakos spent the majority of its later history in the Greek second division; however, the footballing arm of the club merged with Egaleo F.C. in August 2009 and was renamed as Egaleo. This merger was cancelled by Greek courts. History Ilisiakos is one of the oldest known sports clubs in Greece. Greece Men's National Water Polo Team
The Greece men's national water polo team represents Greece in international men's water polo competitions and it is organized and run by the Hellenic Swimming Federation. Greece has a long tradition of strong presence at international level, with their major successes being the two bronze medals won at the World Championship in 2005 and 2015. The Greeks have also won a silver medal at the World Cup in 1997, three bronze medals at the World League in 2004, 2006 and 2016, as well as one silver (2018) and four bronze medals (1951, 1991, 1993, 2013) at the Mediterranean Games.
