Theodore Thomas (filmmaker)
Theodore Thomas is an American film director and producer. He is the son of Disney animator Frank Thomas. His films include the 1983 film '' Where the Toys Come From'', the documentary about the two last Disney "Nine Old Men" animators, ''Frank and Ollie'' (1995), and ''Walt & El Grupo'' (2008), documenting Disney and his group visiting South America during World War II. In 2012, Thomas produced another documentary about Disney animators, ''Growing up with Nine Old Men'' (included in the Diamond edition of the ''Peter Pan'' DVD.) Frank Thomas (animator)
Franklin Rosborough Thomas (September 5, 1912 – September 8, 2004) was an American animator and pianist. He was one of Walt Disney's leading team of animators known as the Nine Old Men. Biography Thomas was born on September 5, 1912 in Santa Monica, California to Frank Thomas, a teacher, and Ina Gregg. He had two older brothers, Lawrence and Welburne. He grew up in Fresno. Frank Thomas attended Stanford University, where he was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity and worked on campus humor magazine ''The Stanford Chaparral'' with Ollie Johnston. After graduating from Stanford in 1933, he attended Chouinard Art Institute, then joined The Walt Disney Company on September 24, 1934, as employee number 224. ''Where the Toys Come From'' is a Disney special directed by Theodore Thomas and aired as part of Disney Studio Showcase series of specials on Disney Channel on December 3, 1983 and then released on video in November 1984. ''Frank and Ollie'' is a 1995 documentary film about the life and careers of Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, two chief animators who had worked at Walt Disney Animation Studios from its early years until their retirement in the late 1970s. Donald Paul Hahn (born November 26, 1955) is an American film producer who is credited with producing some of the most successful animated films in recent history, including Disney’s ''Beauty and the Beast'' (the first animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture) and ''The Lion King''. Hahn is currently Executive Producer of Disneynature films, and owns his own film production company, Stone Circle Pictures. Early life Don Hahn was born in Chicago, Illinois.
