Theodore Lorch
Theodore "Ted" Lorch (September 29, 1873 – November 12, 1947) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 140 films between 1908 and 1947. Biography Born in Springfield, Illinois, in 1873, Lorch appeared in several Three Stooges comedies. He was the suspicious Major "Bloodhound" Filbert in ''Uncivil Warriors'', the snooty psychologist Professor Sedlitz in ''Half-Wits Holiday'', and General Muster in ''Goofs and Saddles''. He also performed tiny bit roles, such as the butler in ''If a Body Meets a Body'' and ''Micro-Phonies''. Lorch died on November 12, 1947. His final Stooge film, ''The Hot Scots'', was released posthumously in 1948. He was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California. ''The Sphinx'' is a 1933 American Pre-Code mystery drama film directed by Phil Rosen. The film was remade by William Beaudine as ''Phantom Killer'' in 1942. Plot A man comes out of the office of "Garfield Investment Company". He meets the janitor in the stairs and asks him for a match, and then what time it is. "It's nine" the Italian-American janitor Luigi Bacciagalupi answers and wants to know from which apartment he came out. The man leaves without answering. Shortly after, the janitor finds a dead man in the office of "Garfield Investment Company". Newspaperman Burton from the Chronicle is there to talk with the inspector. Before he can see him he talks with the watching police officer, and after a while, realizes that the Garfield Investment Company just that morning went bankrupt. ''Sailor Izzy Murphy'' is a 1927 comedy-drama film released from Warner Bros. Pictures starring George Jessel, Audrey Ferris, Warner Oland and John Milijan. The film was a follow up to a previous film starring Jessel titled '' Private Izzy Murphy''. ''The Better 'Ole'', also called ''The Romance of Old Bill'', is an Edwardian musical comedy with a book by Bruce Bairnsfather and Arthur Elliot, music by Herman Darewski, and lyrics by Percival Knight and James Heard, based on the cartoon character Old Bill, an infantryman, drawn by Bairnsfather. In the musical, Old Bill intercepts a spy's plan to destroy a bridge, trapping a French regiment after they cross it. Bill saves them by blowing up the bridge before they pass; his actions are misunderstood, however, and he is arrested for disobeying orders and holding an enemy document.
