Thengamam Balakrishnan
Thengamam Balakrishnan (April 1, 1927 – July 3, 2013) was an Indian politician, journalist, and leader of Communist Party of India. He was former Chief editor of Janayugom. He represented Adoor constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 1970 to 1977. Biography He was born as the eldest son of Madhavan and Naniamma of Thengamam on April 1, 1927. Influenced by the freedom movement and national leaders, Thengamam began his public life through All India Students Federation. Even during the student life, he was arrested and suffered police brutality for his public activism. Kerala Library Association
The Kerala Library Association (KLA) was founded in 1972 by a group of librarians who strongly felt the need for an independent professional association at the state level to promote the cause of library development, professional standards of librarians, entirely dedicated for libraries and librarians. The Headquarters of the association is at Thiruvananthapuram. Prof. K. A. Isaac was the patron of the association. The association has boldly voiced the sentiments and the views of professionals on several occasions to the concerned authorities. Thennala Balakrishna Pillai (born 11 March 1930) is an Indian politician representing the Indian National Congress and is a former Member of the Parliament representing Kerala in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. All India Students Federation
The All India Students' Federation (AISF) is the oldest surviving student organisation in India, founded in 1936. Pre-independence AISF was founded on 12 August 1936, with guidance and cooperation from the Indian independence movement. The foundation conference of the AISF was held at Ganga Prasad Memorial Hall in Lucknow, with 936 delegates from across India. The conference was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru, and presided over by M.A. Jinnah. The conference resolved to establish an All India Students' Federation, and Prem Narayan Bhargava was elected as the first general secretary. The second conference of the AISF was held three months later, beginning on 22 November 1936 in Lahore. It mainly discussed and adopted the constitution of the AISF.
