Theatre Of War (novel)
''Theatre of War'' is an original novel written by Justin Richards and based on the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. It features the Seventh Doctor, Ace and Bernice. It also introduces the recurring character of Irving Braxiatel. A prelude to the novel, also written by Richards, appeared in ''Doctor Who Magazine'' #212. Synopsis An archeological expedition to the planet Menaxus ends in tragedy; all but one of the visitors die and lethal radiation contaminates the surface. Now the survivor is leading a new trip, with Professor Bernice Summerfield. Murders start again. Bernice summons her friends, the Doctor and Ace. They are sucked into a dangerously real re-creation of Shakespeare's play, ''Hamlet'', which is paralleled by ''The Good Soldiers'', the (fictitious) purportedly lost play of the future playwright Stanoff Osterling. Justin Richards
Justin Richards (born 14 September 1961) is a British writer. He has written science fiction and fantasy novels, including series set in Victorian or early-20th-century London, and also adventure stories set in the present day. He has written many spin-off novels, reference books and audio plays based on the long-running BBC science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'', and he is Creative Consultant for the BBC Books range of '' Doctor Who'' novels. Life Richards was born in Epping, Essex, on 14 September 1961. After attending Dean Close School in Cheltenham he obtained a BA (Hons) in English and Theatre at the University of Warwick. As well as his literary career, Richards has worked as a technical writer, editor, programmer, and user interface designer at IBM, and as an errand boy in a hotel. Lisa Bowerman
Lisa Bowerman (born 1 February 1962) is a British actress. She is best known for portraying Sandra Mute, the paramedic, in the BBC One medical drama ''Casualty'', in the first two series (1986–1987). She also starred as Professor Bernice Summerfield in many ''Doctor Who'' Big Finish Productions audio plays, as well as directing many series for the company. Career Bowerman trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and was a regular in the first two series of BBC medical drama ''Casualty'' playing Sandra Mute, the show's first female paramedic. Sophie Aldred (born 20 August 1962) is an English actress and television presenter. She has worked extensively in children's television as a presenter and voice artist. She played the Seventh Doctor's companion, Ace, in the television series ''Doctor Who'' during the late 1980s, becoming the final companion in the series' first run. ''All-Consuming Fire'' is a novel written by Andy Lane and the 27th entry in the ''Virgin New Adventures'', a series based on the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. The novel is a crossover with Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective Sherlock Holmes and also with H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Plot The novel is framed as a book within a book, the majority of the story narrated by Dr. Watson.
