The Football Federation of the USSR (russian: Федерация футбола СССР) was a governing body of football in the Soviet Union and since 1972 the main governing body of football in the country. The Federation was created late in 1934 by the decision of the '' Supreme Council of Physical Culture'' of the USSR (russian: Высший Совет Физической Культуры, VSFK) as its sports section governing specifically football. It was the only organization that obtained recognition of FIFA in 1946. Soviet Footballer Of The Year
The award Soviet Footballer of the Year was awarded to the best footballer of the Soviet Union from 1964 until 1991. The poll was conducted among journalists by the weekly sport newspaper '' Football'' (Football-Hockey). Each journalist named his own top three player every year. Each place carried a point weight such as 1st place was worth 3 pts., 2nd - 2, and 3rd - 1. The idea for the award appeared right after Lev Yashin has received Ballon d'Or award in 1963. The honours were awarded along with several other prizes and awards at the end of the competition season. For goalkeepers being not limited from the Soviet Footballer of the Year, also were awarded separate honours the "Best Goalkeeper of the Year". The best 33 football players of Ukraine (33 найкращі футболісти України) is an annual list of the three best association football, football players in each position for the past calendar year composed by the Ukrainian newspaper ''Komanda (newspaper), Komanda''. Overview It is an unofficial rating and is being conducted through the adaptation of a previous official annual Soviet award endorsed by the Football Federation of Soviet Union that was discontinued after the fall of the Soviet Union. The newspaper conducts the rating since 1998 for the Ukrainian national players participating in the Ukrainian Premier League.
