"The Zanti Misfits" is an episode of the original ''The Outer Limits (1963 TV series), The Outer Limits'' television show. It was first broadcast on December 30, 1963, during the first season. In 1997, the ''TV Guide'' ranked this episode number 98 on its "100 Greatest Episodes of All Time" list of all US television. Introduction An alien world demands that Earth provide a penal colony for its criminals. The criminals are grotesque, rat-sized, ant-like insectoids with almost human faces. ''The Outer Limits'' is an American television series that was broadcast on ABC from September 16, 1963, to January 16, 1965, at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on Mondays. It is often compared to ''The Twilight Zone'', but with a greater emphasis on science fiction stories (rather than stories of fantasy or the supernatural). It is an anthology of self-contained episodes, sometimes with plot twists at their ends. In 1997, the episode "The Zanti Misfits" was ranked #98 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time. It was revived in 1995, until its cancellation in 2002. In April 2019, a new revival was stated to be in development at a premium cable network. Jim Danforth
James Danforth (born July 13, 1940) is an American stop-motion animator, known for model-animation, matte painting, and for his work on ''When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth'' (1970), a theme-sequel to Ray Harryhausen's ''One Million Years B.C.'' (1967). He later went on to work with Ray Harryhausen on the film '' Clash of the Titans'' (1981) to mainly do the animation of the winged horse Pegasus. Danforth has been nominated two times for an Academy Award for Visual Effects for George Pal's ''7 Faces of Dr. Lao'' (1964), and for ''When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth'' (1970). Robert Johnson (actor)
Robert Cleveland Johnson (May 4, 1920 – December 31, 1993) was an American actor and voice actor who played supporting roles on series television and in films from the late 1950s until a few years before his death. Johnson is probably best known as the "voice behind the scenes", who gave Special Agents Dan Briggs and Jim Phelps their recorded mission briefings on both incarnations of the '' Mission: Impossible'' television series. The "Voice" was never identified by name, title or position, and was only heard in recordings, but nevertheless became one of the most iconic features of the show.
