''The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles'' is an action video game developed by Chris Gray Enterprises and published by Jaleco for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in January 1993. It is based on the 1990s television series ''The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles''. Gameplay ''The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles'' features side-scrolling platform gameplay with the player controlling Indiana Jones. Weapons include dynamite, daggers, grenades, and guns, as well as Indiana's whip. The player begins only with the whip, which is replaced by the next weapon the player picks up. Weapons, as well as gold and other items, are picked up by destroying boxes. Weapons and items serve as Indiana's health: each time he is hit by an enemy, he loses a possession. If Indiana has no more possessions, he must use his fists to defend himself, and will die if hit again. Big Bertha (howitzer)
The 42-centimetre 14 L/12 (short naval cannon), or ''Minenwerfer-Gerät'' (M-Gerät), popularly known by the nickname Big Bertha, was a German siege howitzer built by Krupp AG in Essen, Germany and fielded by the Imperial German Army from 1914 to 1918. The had a calibre barrel, making it one of the largest artillery pieces ever fielded. The designed in 1911 as an iteration of earlier super-heavy German siege guns intended to break modern fortresses in France and Belgium and entered production in 1912. Test firing began in early 1914 and the gun was estimated to be finished by October 1914. When the First World War broke out, the two guns, still prototypes, were sent to Liège, Belgium, and destroyed Forts Pontisse and Loncin. German soldiers bestowed the gun with the nickname "Big Bertha", which then spread through German newspapers to the Allies, who used it as a nickname for all super-heavy German artillery. Jaleco Games
was a corporate brand name that was used by two previously connected video game developers and publishers based in Japan. The original Jaleco company was founded in 1974 as Japan Leisure Company, founded by Yoshiaki Kanazawa, before being renamed to simply Jaleco in the early 1980s. This company was later acquired in 2000 by PCCW, who rebranded it as their Japanese game division, PCCW Japan, before reverting it to Jaleco in 2002.
