''The Yawn of the New Age'' is the debut album by the Norwegian electronic/noise/avant-garde metal artist Zweizz. All music and lyrics are created by Svein Egil Hatlevik, except "Blacker Than Darkness", which is an adaptation of the song by the same title, written by Norwegian black metal group Immortal. Critical reception ''The Yawn of the New Age'' has been met with reviews ranging from very favourable to very unfavourable. Pitchfork's monthly metal columnist, Brandon Stosuy belonged to the enthusiasts: "Hatlevik's one of the most compelling musicians (and minds) in this realm today...check it out." Decibel magazine gave the album 8 points out of 10, writing: "It’s been a while since black metal questioned itself like Zweizz is doing here, and in a BM scene so awash with turgid, unthinking revivalism (and lame bands), it’s nice to know the fringes of extremity can always be counted on to keep things interesting. Carl-Michael Eide
Carl-Michael Eide (born 24 July 1974) is a Norway, Norwegian black metal musician, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist. He is also known under stage names Aggressor, Czral and Exhurtum. Biography Carl-Michael Eide has played in various black metal and avant-garde metal bands. These include Ved Buens Ende, Aura Noir, Cadaver (band), Cadaver, Dødheimsgard, Satyricon (band), Satyricon, Ulver, Infernö and recently the jazz/rock band Virus (Norwegian band), Virus. His drumming is unusual in style, with very little repetition and a tendency to shy away from traditional drumming. His singing abilities are diverse. Other than usual harsh vocals in black metal, he uses a form of croon in the avant-garde metal bands Ved Buens Ende and Virus. He has gone back to playing guitar and was writing music for the re-grouped Ved Buens Ende, before the band once again split up in early 2007. Heathen Harvest was an Internet blog devoted to music criticism, music news, and interviews. It focused on underground and post-industrial music, including ambient, heavy metal, gothic, and industrial music.
