''The X Factor'' was an Australian television music competition to find new singing talent. The first season premiered on 6 February 2005 and ended on 15 May 2005. The show was cancelled after the series ended due to poor ratings, but was revived in 2010 after Seven Network acquired the rights through meetings with show creator Simon Cowell. Daniel MacPherson
Daniel Donald MacPherson (born 25 April 1980) is an Australian actor and television presenter, known for his roles as Joel Samuels in ''Neighbours'', PC Cameron Tait in ''The Bill'', Sergeant Samuel Wyatt in Sky and Cinemax's '' Strike Back'', Whit Carmichael in the Shane Abbess sci-fi film '' Infini'', and Arion Elessedil in ''The Shannara Chronicles''. He also co-hosted ''Dancing with the Stars'' for six years while simultaneously starring in a number of Australian dramas such as ''Wild Boys''. Early life MacPherson grew up in Sydney's beachside suburb of Cronulla. He was accepted into Mensa at the age of 10 and went on to attend the academically selective school Sydney Boys High School. Vince Harder
Vince Harder (born c.1982) is a New Zealand R&B/ pop recording artist and producer. His most notable song to date is "Everything", which reached number one in New Zealand on the New Zealand Singles Chart in 2008. In May 2010, he released the single "Say This With Me" which peaked at number 39 on the singles chart. As of June 2015, he has released the new single "Find Love" as well as a music video. Jacob Butler (born 29 March 1982, in Mount Gambier) is an Australian rock/pop musician and singer-songwriter. He became known for his participation in Australian Idol and ''The X Factor'' (Australia). His debut album ''Reason'' was released in 2012 throughout Europe.
