This is a list of television programmes to have been broadcast on the children's television strand ''The Den (Ireland), The Den'' of RTÉ in the Republic of Ireland from 1986 until its conclusion. ''Creature Feature'' Éanna ni Lamhna presented ''Creature Feature''. It had a nature theme. ''Draw with Don'' Each week Don Conroy would arrive at the studio to draw a picture (often of his beloved owls) or read from one of his Children's literature, children's books. Children's television series (or children's television shows) are television show, television programs designed for children, normally scheduled for broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake. They can sometimes run during the early evening, allowing younger children to watch them after school. The purpose of these shows is mainly to entertain or educate. Simon Young (presenter)
Thomas Anthony Meade (1959 – 31 October 2021), known professionally as Simon Young, was an Irish radio and television presenter. He started in pirate radio and DJ'ing in the 1970's. He presented various TV shows such as ''The Beatbox'' and had radio shows on 2FM. He was also known for making contributions to the cult children's television strand, ''Dempsey's Den'', hosted by his radio colleague at that time, Ian Dempsey. Young resigned from RTÉ in 2002 and held a very private life until 2011. He died ten years later, at the age of 62. Career Young presented ''Simon's Choice'' or ''Simon's Saturday Choice'' on Saturday mornings from 10:00 - 13:00 in the late 1980s. The catchphrase "Hey Simon, What toime is ittt?" originates from this time. ''Choice'' was a marketing tool used by the Bank of Ireland, which offered cheap "Fair Cards" for under-26s who opened a "Choice" account at one of their branches. ''Ace Ventura: Pet Detective'' is a 1994 American comedy film starring Jim Carrey as Ace Ventura, an animal detective who is tasked with finding the abducted dolphin mascot of the Miami Dolphins football team. The film was directed by Tom Shadyac, who wrote the screenplay with Jack Bernstein and Jim Carrey. The film co-stars Courteney Cox, Tone Loc, Sean Young, and then-Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino and features a cameo appearance from death metal band Cannibal Corpse. ''Amigo and Friends'' (also known in Spanish as ''Cantinflas y Sus Amigos'') is an educational children's cartoon that was based on the Mexican cartoon series '' Cantinflas Show'' in 1979. The show, which concentrates on a wide range of subjects intended to educate children, follows Amigo, a little comical character from Mexico, who goes on educational adventures through time and space and gets to visit Shakespeare, see the ancient pyramids, and even travels to other planets. The animated Amigo is based on the legendary character, Cantinflas played by the Mexican actor and comedian Mario Moreno Reyes. The show was created and produced by Televisa. The company was also responsible for the distribution of the show in Mexico. ''2 Stupid Dogs'' is an American animated television series created and designed by Donovan Cook and produced by Hanna-Barbera Cartoons. It originally ran from September 5, 1993, to May 15, 1995, on TBS as a part of their ''Sunday Morning in Front of the TV'' block and in syndication. The show's main segments feature two unnamed dogs, called "The Big Dog" and "The Little Dog" in the credits (voiced by Brad Garrett and Mark Schiff, respectively). The show has been described as "Hanna-Barbera's answer to ''Ren and Stimpy''", a hit show that premiered two years earlier in 1991 on Nickelodeon. ''The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo'' is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, and the seventh incarnation of the studio's ''Scooby-Doo'' franchise.
