''The Word'' ( sv, Ordet) is a 1943 Swedish drama film directed by Gustaf Molander, based on the 1925 play by Kaj Munk. It preceded ''Ordet'' by Carl Th. Dreyer by more than a decade. Gustaf Molander
Gustaf Harald August Molander (18 November 1888 – 19 June 1973) was a Sweden, Swedish actor and film director. His parents were director Harald Molander, Sr. (1858–1900) and singer and actress Lydia Molander, ''née'' Wessler, and his brother was the director Olof Molander (1892–1966). He was the father of director and producer Harald Molander from his first marriage to actress Karin Molander and father to actor Jan Molander from his second marriage to Elsa Fahlberg (1892–1977). Gustaf Molander was born in Helsinki, Helsingfors (now Helsinki) in the Grand Duchy of Finland (in the Russian Empire), where his father was working at the Swedish Theatre. He studied in the school of the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm 1907–1909, acted at the Swedish theatre in Helsingfors 1909–1913, and then at the Royal Dramatic Theatre from 1913 to 1926. Inga Linnéa Landgré (born ''Lundgren''; 6 August 1927) is a Swedish actress who has worked in theatre, television and films since the 1940s. Early life and career Inga Landgré was born in Stockholm on 6 August 1927. Her father was a struggling musician whose alcoholism strained her parents' marriage. Her mother was a waitress. They divorced in the early 1930s, when she was only five years old. She was an only child. She received her theatrical education in ''Calle Flygare Teaterskola'' and made her acting debut in 1944 at the Blanche Theatre as ''Anja'' in ''"Körbärsträdgården"''. Olle Hilding (born Hilding Olof Johansson; 19 July 1898 – 9 November 1983) was a Swedish stage and film actor. He appeared in motion pictures between 1923-1982. Biography Hilding Olof Johansson was born and died in the Katarina Parish of Stockholm, Sweden. From 1920–1923 he toured the country with the theater company of Oscar Winge (1884-1951) and made his film debut under the direction of film director, Victor Sjöström (1879–1960) in ''Vem doer'' (1922). During much of the 1930s, Hilding helped author Erik Lindorm (1889-1941), with his book chronicles, most of which featured historical personalities and events as themes. Kaj Harald Leininger Munk (commonly called Kaj Munk) (13 January 1898 – 4 January 1944) was a Danish playwright and Lutheranism, Lutheran pastor, known for his cultural engagement and his martyrdom during the Occupation of Denmark of World War II. He is commemorated as a martyr in the Calendar of Saints (Lutheran), Calendar of Saints of the Lutheran Church on 14 August, alongside Maximilian Kolbe.
