The Witness (1992 Film)
''The Witness'' is a short film (19 minutes) directed by Chris Gerolmo, starring Gary Sinise and Elijah Wood. Plot Set in a Nazi concentration camp, The Witness shows a series of repeating set of psychological actions. Gary Sinise plays a guard, whose daily routine is to corral Jewish prisoners through a tunnel and into the gas chamber. Each day, as he performs this task, the guard is watched by a Jewish little boy (Elijah Wood), whose piercing stare unsettles him. He tries to shake this child's steady glare, day after day, until one night he steals into the barracks, finds the child and smothers him. Instead of being free of the accusing stare, another child has replaced the one he killed. ''The Witness'' was produced in 1992 in the United States and is in the German language. Chris Gerolmo
Chris Gerolmo is a Golden Globe nominated screenwriter, director, and singer-songwriter best known for writing the screenplay for the multi-Academy Award nominated film ''Mississippi Burning'' and the less successful ''Miles from Home'' starring Richard Gere. He has also written a book about the death of his wife, Joan, from cancer in 2007. This is titled ''Death for Beginners'', published by Patcheny Press in 2011. He lives in Brentwood, California with his three children and stepson. Early life and education He was born to Frank Gero (1929–2014), a former theater actor and stage manager who later became a producer, and Woji Gero who worked alongside her husband in the production business in the mid-1950s. He attended Harvard University in the early 1970s graduating with a BA in Writing & Film-making. Gary Sinise
Gary Alan Sinise (; born March 17, 1955) is an American actor, humanitarian, and musician. Among other awards, he has won a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award, and four Screen Actors Guild Awards. He has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and was nominated for an Academy Award. Sinise has also received numerous awards and honors for his extensive humanitarian work and involvement with charitable organizations. He is a supporter of various veterans' organizations and founded the Lt. Dan Band (named after his character in ''Forrest Gump''), which plays at military bases around the world. Sinise's acting career started on stage with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 1983 when he directed and starred in a production of Sam Shepard's '' True West'' for which he earned an Obie Award.
