Julius The Cat
Julius the Cat is a cartoon animal character created in 1922 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. He first appeared in the very first animated series created by Walt Disney, the ''Alice Comedies'', making him the predecessor of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse. Julius is an anthropomorphic cat, appearing intentionally similar to Felix the Cat. A bold and inventive hero, he gradually became the primary focus of the ''Alice Comedies'', to the point Disney abandoned live action for pure animation on subsequent projects. Julius was the first of Disney's animated protagonists to battle Pete, their oldest continuing character. The two "Julius Katz" stores on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure are named in his honor. In physics, mathematics, and related fields, a wave is a propagating dynamic disturbance (change from equilibrium) of one or more quantities. Waves can be periodic, in which case those quantities oscillate repeatedly about an equilibrium (resting) value at some frequency. ''Alice Gets Stung'' is a 1925 animated short film by Walt Disney in the ''Alice Comedies'' series. It was Virginia Davis' last performance as Alice. Alice attempts to shoot the bear, but the bear ends up chasing them into a barrel. The bear then knocks a bee hive into the barrel (thus the "gets stung" in the title). ''Alice the Toreador'' is a 1925 animated short film by Walt Disney in the ''Alice Comedies'' series. Plot Alice and Julius play bullfighters A bullfighter (or matador) is a performer in the activity of bullfighting. ''Torero'' () or ''toureiro'' (), both from Latin ''taurarius'', are the Spanish and Portuguese words for bullfighter and describe all the performers in the activit ..., selecting a peaceful old steer as their "bull". However, when Terrible Tom swaps the steer with a legitimate bull, Alice is forced to run for her life. Alice and Julius trap the bull in a pen, and Julius takes on the role of the bull. ''Alice's Spooky Adventure'' is a 1924 black-and-white silent short subject created by Walt Disney. Plot When a ball is accidentally knocked through the window of a neighbourhood haunted house, Alice is the only one brave enough to go inside to retrieve it. While she is in there she falls and bumps her head, sending her to a cartoon dreamworld in which she rescues a cat and battles some spirits in a ghost town. When she awakens, she retrieves the ball, only to find out that police have investigated the scene. The police chase Alice, believing her to be responsible for the scene, and arrest her. Alice's Day At Sea
''Alice's Day at Sea'' was the first animated short film in the series of the Alice Comedies that was directed Walt Disney. It was black and white and silent, and featured live action segments paired with animated sequences. It is a historically significant film as it was the first project created by the Disney Brothers Studio. Established by Roy and Walt Disney in Los Angeles on October 16, 1923, they worked from a rented back office of the Holly Vermont Realty located at 4651 Kingswell Avenue. “Alice’s Day at Sea” was delivered to distributor M.J. ''Alice in Wonderland'' is a 1951 American animated musical fantasy comedy film produced by Walt Disney Productions and based on the '' Alice'' books by Lewis Carroll. The thirteenth release of Disney's animated features, the film premiered in London on July 26, 1951, and in New York City on July 28, 1951. It features the voices of Kathryn Beaumont as Alice, Sterling Holloway as the Cheshire Cat, Verna Felton as the Queen of Hearts, and Ed Wynn as the Mad Hatter. Walt Disney first tried to adapt ''Alice'' into a feature-length animated film in the 1930s and revived the idea in the 1940s.
