The Wildhearts
The Wildhearts are an English rock band, formed in 1989 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band's sound is a mixture of hard rock and melodic pop music, often described in the music press as combining influences as diverse as the Beatles and 1980s-era Metallica. The Wildhearts achieved several top 20 singles and two top 10 albums in Britain, though they also faced difficulties with record companies and many internal problems often relating to drugs and depression. Much of the band's early career was affected by bitter feuds with their record company, East West. Throughout the band's history, members have regularly been replaced, with the only constant member being the band's founder, singer and guitarist Ginger. Several band members have appeared in the line-up more than once. The band has also been split up or placed on hiatus by Ginger multiple times. Earth Vs The Wildhearts
''Earth vs the Wildhearts'' is the debut studio album by British rock band The Wildhearts, released in 1993. The title is based on such B-movie titles as ''Earth vs. the Flying Saucers'' and ''Earth vs. the Spider''. The album has been reissued twice: first in 1994 with the addition of the formerly single-only track "Caffeine Bomb", and again in 2010 with several B-sides from the period. Recording Mick Ronson contributed one of the three guitar solos on "My Baby Is a Headfuck". This is believed to be Ronson's final appearance on record before his death on 29 April 1993. The Dogs D'Amour are an English bluesey hard rock band formed in London in 1983. Over the years the band has had various line-ups, the only constant being vocalist Tyla. Their music has been described as a mixture of the Rolling Stones, the Faces and glam punk. Their 1989 release, '' A Graveyard of Empty Bottles'', reached No. 16 on the UK Albums Chart while the single "Satellite Kid" reached No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart. Mournblade are a heavy metal band, formed in 1982 and originating from London, England. The early incarnation falls into the category of space rock. The latter incarnation is regarded as one of the last bands of the new wave of British heavy metal movement. The band is named after a sword from Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné stories. Dunken Francis Mullett (born 23 April 1964 in Battersea, London, England), recording as Dunken Francis, is an English musician, author and martial artist. He was a founding member of cult British heavy metal band Mournblade (recording 4 albums) and later played and recorded with The Wildhearts, Hipjam and The Ragged Boys. Mullett currently holds the rank of 6th degree black belt in traditional Aikido and is the senior instructor at The Institute of Aikido Auckland based in Auckland, New Zealand and is also the author of "Aikido – A beginner's guide" and "Aikido – The first steps", both of which are used by many dojo's around the world as beginner's texts.
