''The White Meadows'' ( fa, کشتزارهای سپید, Keshtzarhaye sepid) is a 2009 Iranian film written, directed and produced by Mohammad Rasoulof. The film was edited by Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi and stars Hassan Pourshirazi as Rahmat. Lake Urmia was the filming location for the fictional setting of a salt encrusted land. Mohammad Rasoulof ( fa, محمد رسولاف; born 16 November 1972) is an Iranian independent filmmaker. He is known for several award-winning films, including his first, '' The Twilight'' (2002); '' Iron Island'' (2005); '' Manuscripts Don't Burn'' (2013) and ''There Is No Evil'' (2020). He has been arrested several times and had his passport confiscated, as the nature and content of his films has brought him into conflict with the Iranian Government.
