Mel Stuart
Mel Stuart (born Stuart Solomon; September 2, 1928 – August 9, 2012) was an American film director and producer who often worked with producer David L. Wolper, at whose production firm he worked for 17 years, before going freelance. Early life Stuart was born Stuart Solomon. He was of Jewish background. Career Stuart directed the fantasy-musical ''Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory'' (1971). He directed other features, including ''If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium'' (1969), ''One Is a Lonely Number'' (1972) and ''Running on the Sun: The Badwater 135'' (2000). Stuart also directed feature documentaries including the 1964 Oscar-nominated JFK documentary ''Four Days in November'' and the 1973 concert film ''Wattstax''. David Haney (actor)
David Haney (born 1955) is an American jazz pianist and publisher of ''Cadence'' magazine. Career As an infant, Haney's family moved from Fresno, California, to Calgary, Alberta. He began piano studies at the age of nine, and started playing guitar when he was fifteen. He attended Sacramento City College and the University of New Orleans. At Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, he studied music theory and took private lessons with jazz pianist Eddie Weid. From 1980 to 1985 he studied privately with Czech-American composer Tomáš Svoboda. His works were performed twice at the Berg Swann Auditorium in Portland, in 1980 and 1982, and at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon in 1982. He was commissioned in 1984 to provide the music for a benefit fundraiser for the Oregon Ballet Theatre, which included the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Charles Pace
Charles J. Pace (born c. 1950) is the current leader of The Branch, The Lord Our Righteousness, the supposed successor group of the Branch Davidians after 1993. According to the ''Toronto Star'', he is from Collingwood, Canada. He joined the Branch Davidians in the 1980s, but he left before the Waco siege that destroyed the Mt. Carmel center. He claims to be the successor to David Koresh as the prophet of the Branch Davidians (though he does not use the word "prophet"). He returned to Waco, Texas, in 1994 after having left the Mount Carmel Center in the mid-1980s in order to start his own religious movement.
