The Weight Band
The Weight Band is an American rock band formed in 2013. It consists of Jim Weider (guitar), Michael Bram (drums, vocals), Brian Mitchell (keyboards, vocals), Matt Zeiner (keyboard, vocals) and Albert Rogers (bass, vocals). The Weight Band was created by Jim Weider to continue the musical legacy of The Band. History The Weight Band originated inside the barn of Levon Helm Studios in 2013 when Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante, both former members of The Band, were performing “Songs of The Band” with Garth Hudson, Jimmy Vivino and Byron Isaacs. Weider, Ciarlante and Isaacs continued performing songs from The Band and invited Brian Mitchell. Marty Grebb, who contributed to The Band albums Jericho_(The_Band_album) and Jubilation_(The_Band_album) was also invited to join The Weight Band. Jackie Greene
Jackie Greene (born November 27, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He has a solo career and became a member of The Black Crowes in 2013, though the band broke up in 2015 before he could contribute any studio work. Early life Greene was born Chris Nelson in Salinas, California. He grew up in Cameron Park near Sacramento, where he developed an interest in music at an early age, starting with the piano. At 14, he began to play guitar and within a short time, was able to sit in with local bar bands. As he got older, he began composing his own songs. After he graduated from Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, he moved to Sacramento and got his start by playing at local establishments like Marilyn's, Fox & Goose and The Blue Lamp. Fred Tackett
Fred Tackett (born August 30, 1945) is an American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Originally a session player on guitar, mandolin, and trumpet, he is best known as a member of the band Little Feat. In addition to his work with Little Feat, Tackett has played and recorded with many notable artists, Bob Dylan and Jimmy Webb among them. He had an additional side project with another member of Little Feat; he performed as part of a duo with Paul Barrere, as Paul and Fred. Paul Barrere (July 3, 1948 – October 26, 2019) was an American musician most prominent as a member of the band Little Feat, which he joined in 1972 some three years after the band was created by Lowell George.
