The Way Out Is Broken
''The Way Out Is Broken'' is the fourth release and first EP from New Jersey band Armor for Sleep. Background and release While on tour in fall 2005, Armor for Sleep performed a new song, titled "The Way Out Is Broken". On January 12, 2006, the group released a demo of the song. The band had been reportedly working on the song for their third album. In July 2008, the band announced they would release an EP consisting of songs from their previous recording sessions later in the summer. On August 21, "The Way Out Is Broken" was made available for streaming through the band's Myspace profile. It is exclusively a digital download EP, and has not been released on a physical medium. Fans could purchase a download card from Armor for Sleep during the later dates of the 2008 Projekt Revolution tour, allowing them to download the EP on the day of its release. Pop Punk
Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Smile For Them
''Smile for Them'' is the third studio album by American rock band Armor for Sleep, released on October 30, 2007 through Sire Records. Shortly after the release of their second studio album ''What to Do When You Are Dead'' (2005), the band were writing material for its follow-up. In early 2006, the band announced they had signed to Sire Records, recording demos not long after. At the end of the year, they started recording with Ben Grosse in California, but after a few months, the songs were scrapped. Recording restarted with Machine as producer, with sessions taking place at The Machine Shop in Weehawken, New Jersey and Loho Studios in New York City. ''Smile for Them'' is an emo and post-hardcore album, which recalling the works of Foo Fighters, the Smashing Pumpkins and Quicksand, that deals with celebrity culture. Projekt Revolution was a music festival hosted by Linkin Park, bringing artists of various genres of music together. Linkin Park started Projekt Revolution in the year 2002 with just one stage. Then, in 2004, they announced the Revolution Stage (Second Stage) where the smaller bands/artists would perform. 2002 2002 brought Linkin Park the idea to plan the Projekt Revolution Tour series, and the series began in that year.
