The Watkins Family
The Watkins Family are an American acoustic Southern gospel/bluegrass music performing group based in Toccoa, Georgia, United States. The group comprises Judy Watkins, her two adult children Todd, Lorie, and various side musicians. The group has been performing for over twenty-five years. Their 2013 album ''Heaven's Worth Waiting For'' was produced by former Ricky Skaggs musician Grammy winner Mark Fain, Grammy nominee Karen Peck Gooch and Danny Jones. The ministry started by Donald Watkins and his wife in the 1970s performs throughout the United States and Canada including in the U.S. Capitol building. The family was inducted to the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012. Toccoa is a city in far Northeast Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia near the border with South Carolina. Kentucky Thunder, or Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, is the band that plays with American country and bluegrass singer Ricky Skaggs. Many members of the band have won numerous awards. Karen Peck
Karen Peck and New River is a southern gospel mixed group based in Gainesville, Georgia. Music career The youngest of three daughters, Karen was exposed to the traditional sounds of gospel music at a very early age. Her parents often took Karen and her sisters, Susan and Sandra, to the all-night sings in Atlanta, and these concerts left an indelible mark on the youngsters who made a pact that someday they would share a musical ministry of their own. One of the groups often featured at the Atlanta concerts was The Lefevres, who later became known as The Nelons.
