Eugene Strong
Eugene Strong (August 9, 1893 – June 25, 1962) was an American film actor and vaudevillian. Career Eugene Strong oscillated between stage and film work throughout his acting career. He played the lead role in the stage production of '' The Virginian'' for two years. He was working in vaudeville in 1915. Strong's first film was '' The Crimson Stain Mystery'' (1916); he received positive notice for his role as a man seduced by a vampire. Strong returned to vaudeville in the 1920s. Strong worked with Valeska Surrat and supported Surrat in a lawsuit brought against her by Walter Percival in 1920. He was part of the vaudeville act Mann and Strong, with singer Hazel Mann. A ''Variety'' review of the play ''Garage Love'' states, "Strong, as always, is the personified matinee hero who gets the flappers on sight... Strong is a romantic 'hero' who has few equals. Norman Gilbert Pritchard (23 June 1875 – 30 October 1929), also known by his stage name Norman Trevor, was a British-Indian athlete and actor who became the first Asian-born athlete to win an Olympic medal when he won two silver medals in athletics at the 1900 Paris Olympics representing India. He won India's first medal at the Olympics in the 200 metres and the 200 metres hurdles. Biography Norman Pritchard was born in Calcutta to George Petersen Pritchard and Helen Maynard Pritchard. Norman Pritchard was the first Indian athlete to participate in the Olympic Games and was also the first to win an Olympic medal and also represent an Asian nation. George Kuwa
George Kuwa (born Keichii Kuwahara) was a Japanese and American Issei (Japanese immigrant) film actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than 50 films between 1916 and 1931. He was the first actor to portray Charlie Chan on-screen in the 1926 film serial ''The House Without a Key''.Hanke (1989), xii. Biography According to contemporaneous reports, Kuwa was born in Hiroshima, Japan. His father was a judge and wanted George to follow suit. Kuwa moved to the U.S. around 1916 or 1917 and began a career in Hollywood. Like many Japanese actors of the era, he often played Chinese characters. He made several films in Japan as well before returning to the U.S.; he died in Los Angeles in 1931 at the age of 46. Pat Harmon
Plummer Hull Harman (February 3, 1886 – November 26, 1958), known professionally as Pat Harmon, was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 130 films between 1920 and 1947. In 1935, Harmon was the victim of a violent assault which resulted in serious facial injuries, and on August 29, 1935, he was sentenced to serve two-to-10 years in Folsom Prison after being found guilty of stealing a horse. After the incidents involved, Harmon's film career ended as he never appeared on screen again. He was born in Lewistown, Illinois and died in Riverside, California.
