''The War Within'' is the second studio album by American rapper Wrekonize. The album was released on June 25, 2013, by Strange Music. The album features guest appearances from Bernz, Tech N9ne, Crooked I, Posdnuos, Bun B and Liz Suwandi. The album debuted at number 88 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 chart, in the first week of its release. Background In a June 2013, interview with the ''Miami New Times'', Wrekonize spoke about the story behind the song "Anxiety", saying: "It was written on some real-life shit I went through a few years ago, not expressing my emotions, not venting when stress hit. Wrekonize
Benjamin Miller (born 5 May 1983), better known by his stage name Wrekonize, is an American underground rapper and current member of Miami band ¡Mayday!. He is currently signed to the record label Mayday Music, after previously being signed to Tech N9ne's Strange Music. Early life Benjamin Miller was born in London and raised in a household of both British and African descent. His mother was England-born and his father had immigrated to England from Cape Town, South Africa. After moving to Miami, Florida, in 1988, Miller's parents had formed a local band together. They performed on occasion with MC Guru for his original ''Jazzmatazz, Vol. 1, Jazzmatazz'' album. At the age of 11, Wrekonize was introduced to Guru, who helped inspire him to make his own music. K-Salaam (born Kayvon Sarfehjooy on 1977 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian-born American producer, turntablist, and educator. At age three, his family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was raised for most of his childhood. He then moved to New York City to pursue a career in music. He currently resides in Vancouver, BC. He is of Iranian heritage. Bernard James Freeman (born March 19, 1973), known professionally as Bun B, is an American rapper. He is best known as one half of the southern rap duo UGK (UnderGround Kingz), a group he formed in 1987 alongside Pimp C. Aside from his work with UGK, Bun B has released five solo albums, including 2010's ''Trill OG'', which received the rare 5-mic rating from ''The Source''. He is also a guest lecturer at Rice University, located in Houston, Texas. Kelvin Mercer (born August 17, 1969), also known by his stage name Posdnuos and occasionally Pos, is an American rapper and producer from East Massapequa, New York best known for his work as one-third of the hip hop trio De La Soul. Through his work with the group, Mercer is considered to be one of the most consistent and underrated MCs of all time. Beginning with the highly acclaimed ''3 Feet High and Rising'' in 1989, Mercer has gone on to release nine albums with De La Soul.
