The Walshes
''The Walshes'' is an Irish comedy television series that was first broadcast on RTÉ One on 6 March and BBC Four on 13 March 2014. The three-part series was written by Graham Linehan and the comedy group Diet of Worms, and is based on the group's 2010 web series ''The Taste of Home''. The show follows the Walshes, a tight-knit family living in the fictional West Dublin suburb of Strollinstown. Diet of Worms portray the family, reprising their roles from the web series. The show was originally shown on BBC Four and was broadcast again on BBC Two in November 2014. The writer, Graham Linehan, has said that if the show gets higher viewing figures this time it may come back with a new series. In January 2015, Graham Linehan announced on Twitter that the show had been cancelled, blaming "zero publicity" from BBC Two. Diet Of Worms (comedy Group)
Diet of Worms is an Irish comedy and theatre group based in Dublin, Ireland and London, UK, made up of Rory Connolly, Philippa Dunne, Niall Gaffney, Shane Langan and Amy Stephenson. They write and perform sketch and character comedy for stage and screen. History The group took their eponymous first show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006, only a month after their first live performance together at Dublin's Battle of the Axe comedy club. In 2007, they took "Diet of Worms on (Melted) Ice", a sketch comedy show performed in a swimming pool, to Edinburgh. They also began to release short mockumentary films online as part of a series entitled "Dublin Stories". The films were a collaboration with filmmakers Alex Gill and Michael Donnelly and were short portraits of odd Dublin characters, created and performed by one or more of the Worms at a time. Teddington Studios
Teddington Studios was a large British television studio in Teddington, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, providing studio facilities for programmes airing on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky1 and others. The complex also provided studio space for channel continuity. The site was run by the Pinewood Studios Group. Originally built as film studios, the studios were the main production centres for the ITV franchisees ABC Weekend TV and Thames Television. Pinewood Group's lease on Teddington Studios expired in 2014. The studios were demolished in February 2016 to be turned into housing, with programmes made there having moved to other facilities.
