''The Walk-Offs'' is a 1920 silent film comedy directed by Herbert Blaché and starring May Allison. It was produced by Maxwell Karger and distributed through Metro Pictures. Herbert Blaché
Herbert Blaché (5 October 1882 – 23 October 1953), born Herbert Reginald Gaston Blaché-Bolton was a British-born American film director, producer and screenwriter, born of a French father. He directed more than 50 films between 1912 and 1929. Biography Blaché was born in London, England. His father was a French hatmaker originally from Mont-de-Marsan, while his mother was an English actress, Elizabeth Bolton. In 1907 he married filmmaking pioneer Alice Guy, head of production with the French Gaumont Film Company. Their marriage meant that Alice had to resign from her position working with Gaumont. Marie Pavis
Yvonne Pavis (12 May 1890-??) was an English-born actress, writer, and producer. She began acting in Hollywood in 1910 with the Vitagraph Company, occasionally acting under the name Marie Pavis. In 1922, she went to Australia and formed a production company with Lawson Harris. Claire Du Brey
Claire Du Brey (born Clara Violet Dubreyvich, August 31, 1892 – August 1, 1993) was an American actress. She appeared in more than 200 films between 1916 and 1959. Her name is sometimes rendered as Claire Du Bray or as Claire Dubrey. Early years Du Brey was born in Bonner's Ferry, Idaho, to an ethnic Croat father from Dalmatia (who anglicized his name to Matthew Dubrey before his marriage), and an Irish-American mother, Lilly (née Henry), later Mrs. Richard Fugitt. Her parents married on November 9, 1891 in Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho. She was raised Catholic and attended a convent school. Du Brey "had trained as a nurse". She related that in 1897 she traveled west from Idaho in a covered wagon with her mother and her grandfather. Career Du Brey's screen career began with Universal Studios and she played at one time or another with almost all the larger companies.
