The Voice Of Ireland (series 1)
''The Voice of Ireland'' is an Irish reality talent show. It began airing on 8 January 2012. It replaced ''The All Ireland Talent Show''. ''The Voice of Ireland'' aired on RTÉ One. Kathryn Thomas presented the main show, while Eoghan McDermott co-presented. Bressie, Kian Egan, Sharon Corr and Brian Kennedy were the coaches. Pat Byrne, mentored by Bressie, won the series. Auditions for this series took place at the end of 2011. The Blind Auditions took place at The Helix, Dublin, between 26 and 31 October in front of a live audience. On Thursday, 24 November and Friday, 25 November, each coach's artists performed at The Helix for The Battle Rounds. The Live Shows began on 4 March. Niall Breslin
Niall Breslin (born 22 October 1980), known as Bressie, is an Irish musician, former Westmeath GAA, Westmeath Gaelic footballer and Leinster Rugby player. Breslin found success as the lead singer, guitarist, songwriter with pop band The Blizzards, as a co-writer and producer with XIX Entertainment and as a solo artist. He was the winning coach on the first, third and fifth seasons of ''The Voice of Ireland''. ''The Voice'' is an international reality television singing competition franchise. It is based on the reality singing competition ''The Voice of Holland'', which was originally created by Dutch producer John de Mol and Dutch singer Roel van Velzen. It has become a rival to the '' Idols'' franchise, '' The Four'', '' Rising Star'' and ''The X Factor''. Up until 2020, the franchise was owned by Talpa Network. The current owner is ITV Studios. Originated in the Netherlands, many other countries adapted the format and began airing their own versions starting in 2010. Up till now, seven different versions of ''The Voice'' have been produced by countries/regions all around the world.
