The Videos (Roxette Video)
''The Videos'' is the first music video compilation by Swedish pop music duo Roxette, released on 16 November 1991 on VHS and LaserDisc formats by EMI and Picture Music International. It consists of the music videos of every commercially-released single from both their 1988 album '' Look Sharp!'' and 1991 album '' Joyride'', as well as the non-album single "It Must Have Been Love" from the ''Pretty Woman'' soundtrack. The version of "It Must Have Been Love" contained on this video is unique to this release, as it is the only version which removed all of the footage from ''Pretty Woman''. ''The Videos'' does not included "Chances" from ''Look Sharp!'', as that single only received a limited release in select European territories. Later videos created for "(Do You Get) Excited?" and "Church of Your Heart" are also excluded, as they had not yet been filmed. They were included instead on 1992's '' Live-Ism''. Roxette
Roxette was a Swedish pop rock duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson (vocals and keyboards) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Formed in 1986, the duo became an international act in the late 1980s, when they released their breakthrough second album '' Look Sharp!'' Their third album '' Joyride,'' released in 1991, became just as successful as its predecessor. Roxette went on to achieve nineteen UK Top 40 hits, and several US Hot 100 hits, including four US number-ones with "The Look", " Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love", featured on the soundtrack of '' Pretty Woman'', and " Joyride". Their other hits include "Dressed for Success", "Dangerous", and " Fading Like a Flower". Before coming together to form the duo, Fredriksson and Gessle were already established artists in Sweden, she having released a number of solo albums and he being the lead singer and songwriter of Gyllene Tider, a band that had three No. 1 albums. Church Of Your Heart
"Church of Your Heart" is the fifth and final single taken from Swedish pop duo Roxette's third studio album, '' Joyride'' (1991). Written by Per Gessle, the song was a top-20 hit in Canada, where it peaked at number 11, and charted throughout Europe, entering the top 40 in several countries. "I Call Your Name" – originally released as a single from their 1986 debut album ''Pearls of Passion'' – appeared as the B-side. On UK editions of the single, the song was backed by an exclusive megamix consisting of a medley of "It Must Have Been Love", " Listen to Your Heart", "The Look", " Joyride" and "Fading Like a Flower (Every Time You Leave)". Critical reception AllMusic editor Bryan Buss described the song as "folky" in his review of '' Joyride''. Jim Farber from ''Entertainment Weekly'' wrote that Roxette adds some "Dylanesque harmonica" into "Church of Your Heart".
