The Very Next Of
''The Very Next Of'' is the second and final album by the Drugs. It was released in 2004. Track 14, "I Was a Teenage Voter", was released on Rock Against Howard two weeks before the Drugs album's release. The album has since been deleted from Shock Records' catalogue, however it was rereleased in late 2011 with the '' Masking Agents'' box set. The cover is a parody of the cover to their previous album ''Music's in Trouble ''Music's in Trouble'' is the Drugs' debut album, released in 2002 on CD. It earned the Drugs positive press, an appearance on Rove Live, an ARIA award and spawned four singles: " The Bold and the Beautiful", " Metal vs. Hip Hop", "Burger Kin ...'', with part of an updated black and white photo of the Drugs laid over a low quality scan of the album cover of ''Music's in Trouble''. Rock Against Howard
''Rock Against Howard, Musicians Against the Liberal Government'' is an Australian compilation CD featuring anti-Coalition musicians, released in 2004. The project hoped to inspire young voters to turn out in federal elections that year to vote against then-Prime Minister John Howard, but Howard's party prevailed all the same. ''Rock Against Howard'' was organised by Frenzal Rhomb guitarist Lindsay McDougall, when he realised every musician he knew felt the same way about Howard. McDougall told Daniel Johnson of ''The Age'' that "I wanted to get more and different music fans and acts in on the idea of ''Rock Against Howard'', and it also adequately reflects my taste in music, because I've got a bunch of my favourite bands on here as well." Lapsteel
The lap steel guitar, also known as a Hawaiian guitar, is a type of steel guitar without pedals that is typically played with the instrument in a horizontal position across the performer's lap. Unlike the usual manner of playing a traditional acoustic guitar, in which the performer's fingertips press the strings against frets, the pitch of a steel guitar is changed by pressing a polished steel bar against plucked strings (from which the name "steel guitar" derives). Though the instrument does not have frets, it displays markers that resemble them. Teenage Fanclub
Teenage Fanclub are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Bellshill near Glasgow in 1989. The group were founded by Norman Blake (vocals, guitar), Raymond McGinley (vocals, lead guitar) and Gerard Love (vocals, bass), all of whom shared lead vocals and songwriting duties until Love's departure in 2018. As of 2019, the band's lineup consists of Blake, McGinley, Francis Macdonald (drums, vocals), Dave McGowan (bass, vocals) and Euros Childs (keyboards, vocals). In concert, the band usually alternate among its songwriters, giving equal playing time to each one's songs.
