The Vampire Doll
is a 1970 Japanese horror film directed by Michio Yamamoto. Plot Returning to Tokyo from a six month business trip overseas, Kazuhiko leaves to visit his girlfriend Yuko at her isolated country home. After a week when nothing is heard from him, his sister Keiko and her fiancé Hiroshi go to find him. Yuko's mother Shidu tells them that he left after being told that Yuko had died when a landslide struck her car two weeks before he arrived. Keiko suspects there is more to the story. She and Hiroshi stay and try to trace her brother's last steps and end up uncovering tragic and horrifying secrets about Shidu and Yuko. Tomoyuki Tanaka
was a Japanese film producer. He is best known for co-creating the ''Godzilla'' franchise and its associated spin-offs. Early life Tanaka was born on April 26, 1910, in Kashiwara, Osaka. As a child, he would often walk miles to the nearest theater to watch silent adventure and ninja films in the afternoons. At the age of 14, Tanaka saw the silent Western film ''The Covered Wagon'' and was so enamored by its cinematography that it remained his all-time favorite film. In his youth, Tanaka was once disowned by his parents because he focused more on his interests, films and acting, than on his studies. Career Soon after graduating from Kansai University in 1940, Tanaka joined Taisho Studios which merged with Toho Studios in 1941. After four years with the company, he began producing his own films, and his first effort, '' Three Women of the North'', was released in 1945. ''Bloodthirsty'' (or ''The Bloodthirsty Trilogy'') is a 1970s Japanese vampire film trilogy produced by Toho Studio, consisting of three of their 1970s horror films: ''The Vampire Doll'', ''Lake of Dracula'' and ''Evil of Dracula''. While there is no plot connection between the films, they share a vampire theme. The films were all directed by Michio Yamamoto and co-written by Ei Ogawa. All three films have been released on Blu-Ray in a box set from Arrow Video.
