Herbert Blaché
Herbert Blaché (5 October 1882 – 23 October 1953), born Herbert Reginald Gaston Blaché-Bolton was a British-born American film director, producer and screenwriter, born of a French father. He directed more than 50 films between 1912 and 1929. Biography Blaché was born in London, England. His father was a French hatmaker originally from Mont-de-Marsan, while his mother was an English actress, Elizabeth Bolton. In 1907 he married filmmaking pioneer Alice Guy, head of production with the French Gaumont Film Company. Their marriage meant that Alice had to resign from her position working with Gaumont. Howard Gaye
Howard Gaye (23 May 1878 – 26 December 1955) was a British actor who worked mainly in the United States. He acted in 27 silent films, including D. W. Griffith's epics ''The Birth of a Nation'' (1915) as Robert E. Lee and ''Intolerance'' (1916) as Jesus Christ. Gaye also directed films for Mena. In the early 1920s, Gaye taught acting at the Howard Gaye Studio of Screen Acting Technique. He said that even experienced stage actors needed to learn certain techniques if they wanted to adapt to acting in films. Mann was charged with violating the Mann Act in May 1923. A federal complaint charged that he took "Fanchon Duncan, said to be a movie-struck girl" to England, brought her back to the United States, and then deserted her. He was released under $2,500 bond. Kathleen Kerrigan (circa 1869 - January 17, 1957) was an American actress on stage and in the early years of films. Early years The daughter of John Kerrigan and Sarah McLean Kerrigan, she was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but moved with her family to New Albany, Indiana. Her brothers were actor J. Warren Kerrigan and film executive Wallace W. Kerrigan. Career Kerrigan's professional acting debut came on January 8, 1891, at Macauley's Theatre in Louisville, when she played the title role in ''Lady of Lyons'' and Galatea in ''Pygmalion and Galatea (play), Pygmaleon and Galatea''.
