The Unstoppable Wasp
''The Unstoppable Wasp'' is an ongoing American comic book series published by Marvel Comics featuring Nadia van Dyne, Nadia van Dyne (née Pym). The solo series initially debuted in January 2017 and ran for 8 issues as a part of Marvel NOW! 2.0, before relaunching in October 2018 for another run of 10 issues. The series were written by Jeremy Whitley. Art was by Elsa Charretier from the start of the publication until the second run, which Gurihiru took over as artist for. In May 2020, Disney Books published a young adult novel continuing the series written by Sam Maggs, titled ''The Unstoppable Wasp: Built On Hope''. Critics have praised the series for its comedy as well as its portrayal of relationships and bipolar disorder. Gurihiru
, also credited as Illustrator Unit Gurihiru and Gurihiru Studios, is a Japanese illustration team, consisting of Chifuyu Sasaki (workplan design, pencils, inks) and Naoko Kawano (workplan design, colors, webdesign). Both originating from Sapporo, Japan, they are currently based in Saitama, mainly working as artists for American comics. The two women are art school graduates who worked as web designers and art museum receptionists prior to their work in comics. After winning 2nd place in a manga competition, they were advised by the organizer of the contest that their art style didn't fit the Japanese market. They decided to try the American market and have since illustrated many American comics and graphic novels. The Wasp (Janet van Dyne) is a fictional character, fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee, Ernie Hart, and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in ''Tales to Astonish'' #44 (June 1963). Janet van Dyne is usually depicted as having the ability to shrink to a height of several centimeters, fly by means of insectoid wings, and fire bioelectric energy blasts.
