The Universal Robot Band was an American music group comprising Gregory Carmichael, Patrick Adams, Leroy Burgess, Gregory Tolbert and Woody Cunningham. The band was formed by Patrick Adams and Greg Carmichael in 1976. Their debut single, "Dance and Shake Your Tambourine" which featured Gregory Tolbert on keyboards, peaked at No. 25 on the Dance/Club Play Singles chart, #48 on the R&B Singles chart and No. 93 on the Hot 100. Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Patrick Peter Owen Adams (March 17, 1950 – June 22, 2022) was an American music arranger and record producer. He earned 32 gold and platinum records. Career He was known primarily for his production, songwriting and engineering work on the New York-based Salsoul Records, Prelude Records and major record labels as well as his associations with various recording artists such as Black Ivory (1970s), Inner Life, Jocelyn Brown, Loleatta Holloway, R. Leroy Burgess
Leroy O'Neil Jackson Jr. (born August 20, 1953), known by his stage name Leroy Burgess, is an American singer, songwriter, keyboard player, recording artist, arranger and record producer. Burgess was a member of Black Ivory and lead vocalist on the majority of their hits in the early 1970s, he made his debut with the group at the age of 16. Early life Burgess grew up in Harlem, one of seven children. His mother, Myrtle Bell Burgess (a classically trained Contralto) initially disapproved of his desire to become a musician, while his father, Morgan Burgess secretly approved and supported his efforts. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. Kleeer was an American New York City–based funk, disco and post-disco band, which was formed in 1972 under the name The Jam Band, as a backup group to different disco bands and vocalists.
