The Unexpected (album)
''The Unexpected'' is an album by the Norwegian/Belgian metal band Beautiful Sin. The music could be described as a melodic metal release with some serious hard rock leanings, plus modern production values. Most of the songs on the album are quite mid-tempo, picking up crunch and heavier parts only during the apex of the piece or the occasional choruses. There are also two instrumental tracks on the album. Mixed by Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark. Artwork by Thomas Ewerhard "Lost" is a remake of "The Departed (Sun is Going Down)" from Helloween's "The Dark Ride"" album and "The Beautiful Sin" is an instrumental arrangement of "Hopes and Dreams" – a bonus track off Masterplan's "Aeronautics" In Europe, the bonus track is "Le rêve originel," a French version of "This is Not the Original Dream." Beautiful Sin (band)
Beautiful Sin is a European power metal band. They are heavily influenced by the popular power metal band Helloween. Beautiful Sin began when Uli Kusch met Belgian singer Magali Luyten, and wanted to record an album with her band. He agreed to produce a demo-CD for the band, but the recordings were never released. A few years later, Uli was considering creating a new project next to Masterplan in which he would write all the music himself. In autumn of 2004 he began talking to Magali – this time about forming a band together. Rounding out the rest of the line-up would be Pagan's Mind's Jørn Viggo Lofstad and Steinar Krokmo (coming from Uli's adopted home, Norway), and also Kusch's Masterplan-mate, Axel Mackenrott. Uli Kusch
Ulrich Kusch (born 11 March 1967) is a heavy metal drummer. He is best known for playing with Helloween, Gamma Ray, Masterplan and Holy Moses, among others. He is known for his technical style of playing, fast-paced speed metal-like rhythm, and capable songwriting abilities. Biography During the 1980s and early 1990s, he used to be a studio musician and played for many bands, such as Holy Moses, Mekong Delta among others. In 1990, after first drummer of Gamma Ray Mathias Burchardt quit the band, Kai Hansen recruited Uli to perform for his band. In 1991, this lineup released their second full-length studio album, labeled '' Sigh No More'' and went on a world tour. However, Uli quit Gamma Ray in 1992. Helloween
Helloween is a German power metal band founded in 1984 in Hamburg by members of bands Iron Fist, Gentry, Second Hell and Powerfool. Its first lineup consisted of singer and guitarist Kai Hansen, bassist Markus Grosskopf, guitarist Michael Weikath and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg. By the time Hansen quit Helloween in 1989 to form Gamma Ray, the band had evolved into a five-piece, with Michael Kiske taking over as lead vocalist. Schwichtenberg and Kiske both parted ways with Helloween in 1993; Schwichtenberg died two years later as the result of suicide. Between then and 2016, there had been numerous line-up changes, leaving Grosskopf and Weikath as the only remaining original members. The Dark Ride
''The Dark Ride'' is the ninth studio album by German power metal band Helloween, released in 2000. The album's style was quite different from ''Better Than Raw'' as it had a much darker sound, drop-tuned guitars, and gruffer vocals. The album was produced by Roy Z and Charlie Bauerfeind. It is the last studio album to feature ''Master of the Rings''-era lineup with the dismissal of guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch after completion of the supporting tour for the album. They went on to form the band Masterplan. The album contains two singles, which are " If I Could Fly" and " Mr. Torture". Masterplan (band)
Masterplan is a German power metal band founded by guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch upon leaving Helloween in 2001. History During Helloween's tour of their album ''The Dark Ride'' in 2001, members Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch (who had been in the band since 1989 and 1994, respectively) decided to form a side project. As the other Helloween members felt the two were more focused on their side project than Helloween at the time, both were later fired from the band. The name "Masterplan" was born out of the idea that they would be master musicians with the future in their hands, starting the newest power metal band of the new millennium. ''Aeronautics'' is the second album by the German power metal band Masterplan. It's the first album to feature playing and songwriting by members Axel Mackenrott (keyboards) and Iron Savior bassist Jan S. Eckert, who both joined the band shortly after the recordings of the debut album. The song ''After This War'' is a re-written version of Iron Savior song ''After The War'', which is on the album ''Dark Assault'' and was written by Jan S. Eckert and Piet Sielck.
