''The Two Ring Circus'' is a remix album by English synth-pop duo Erasure that served as a companion piece to their second album '' The Circus''. It was released in 1987 on Mute Records in the UK and Sire Records in the US. Composition The vinyl version of ''The Two Ring Circus'' was released as a double 12" album playing at 45rpm, featuring six previously unreleased remixes and three re-recordings. The CD and cassette editions feature an additional seven live bonus tracks billed as "The Touring Circus". The first six tracks are all new remixes of songs that had already appeared on their second album '' The Circus''. The next three tracks are re-recordings of two songs from ''The Circus'' and one song from the band's debut album '' Wonderland'' featuring orchestral arrangements by Andrew Poppy. ''Abba-esque'' is an extended play (EP) by British synth-pop duo Erasure. Released on 1 June 1992, the EP was Erasure's first and only number one on the UK Singles Chart and also became a number-one hit in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, and Sweden. As big fans of the Swedish group ABBA, Erasure (Vince Clarke and Andy Bell) had often performed ABBA songs in concert over the years. They had originally planned to release an album of ABBA covers but instead opted to release an EP of four of ABBA's best known hits. Daniel Otto Joachim Miller (born 14 February 1951) is an English music producer and founder of Mute Records. Biography Miller is the son of two Austrian-Jewish refugees from Nazism, Martin Miller and Hannah Norbert-Miller, born into a family of actors. Radcliffe - born 3 December 1950) is an English recording engineer and producer who worked with new wave and synthpop bands in the early 1980s in Basildon, England. Luis Ferdinand Vega Jr. (born June 12, 1965), as known as "Little Louie" Vega, is an American DJ, record producer and Grammy Award winner remixer of Puerto Ricans in the United States, Puerto Rican ancestry. "It Doesn't Have to Be" is a song by English synth-pop duo Erasure, released on 16 February 1987. It was issued as a single six weeks before the release of the duo's second studio album, '' The Circus'' (1987). Following the number-two UK placing of previous single " Sometimes", it became Erasure's second Top 20 hit in the UK (peaking at number twelve) and their third West German Top 20 hit (number sixteen). The lyric of the song deplores a lack of necessity for strife and may be understood to refer to apartheid in South Africa, but there is no particular reference. ''EBX'' is a series of box sets released by English synth-pop duo Erasure, collecting material originally released on 12″, cassette, CD, and DVD singles, released in the UK by Mute Records between 1999 and 2021. Seven volumes of ''EBX'' have been released. ''EBX1'' and ''EBX2'' were released in 1999, then ''EBX3'' and ''EBX4'' in 2001. EBX5 refers to the retrospective box set ''From Moscow to Mars'', released in 2016. The standard ''EBX'' series resumed in 2018 with the release of ''EBX6'', followed by ''EBX7'' in 2019 and ''EBX8'' in 2021. Each set presents, in chronological order, five of the band's singles.
