Walter Sydney Vinnicombe (26 September 1888 – 27 October 1970) was an English actor and comedian. He worked in film, television and theatre. Biography Vinnicombe was born in Willesden, Middlesex and began working on the music hall stages in 1912 and at regular theatres in 1938 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. His first film appearance was in 1928, and went on to appear in 213 other films. He worked up to his death, with his last television appearance in the comedy '' Doctor in the House'' in 1970. Arnold Marlé (15 September 1887 – 21 February 1970) was a German actor who appeared largely in British films and television programmes. Stage work His theatre work included appearances on the London stage, and a year-and-a-half-long run on Broadway in Paddy Chayefsky's '' The Tenth Man'' in 1959-1961. Jennifer Phipps (born Jennifer Maude, April 16, 1932 – April 18, 2019) was a Canadian actress best known for her work on stage. Early years Phipps was born out of wedlock to Elizabeth Maude in Marylebone, London, England, and "kind of tucked away," said a long-time friend. Two sisters adopted her, and she had regular contact with her mother and grandmother but was not permitted to recognize them in those roles. She first learned her father's name during an audition when, after hearing her mother's and grandmother's names, the director said, "Oh, you're Martin Walker's child." Max David Bacon (1 March 1904, London, England – 3 December 1969, London, England) was a British actor, comedian and musician (drummer and occasional vocalist in Ambrose (bandleader), Ambrose's band). Although he was British-born, his comedic style centred on his pseudo-European, Yiddish accent and in his straight-faced mispronunciation of words. Biography Bacon's father came from a leather-working family to London from Katowice, then in Galicia (Eastern Europe), Galicia in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Frederick Piper
Frederick Piper (23 September 1902 – 22 September 1979) was an English actor of stage and screen who appeared in over 80 films and many television productions in a career spanning over 40 years. Piper studied drama under Elsie Fogerty at the Central School of Speech and Drama, then based at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Never a leading player, Piper was usually cast in minor, sometimes uncredited, parts although he also appeared in some more substantial supporting roles. Allan Prior (13 January 1922, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, – 1 June 2006) was an English television scriptwriter and novelist, who wrote over 300 television episodes from the 1950s onwards. He was founder-writer of influential police drama ''Z-Cars'' with Troy Kennedy Martin and wrote five of the first ten episodes and a total of 136 episodes for ''Z-Cars'' and spin-off series '' Softly, Softly''.
